Eugene Outdoors is partnering with REI, Willamalane Parks and Recreation, UO Outdoor Program and the Willamette Riverkeepers to host the annual Great Willamette River Clean Up! In an effort to restore the urban riverfront, volunteers will remove garbage and debris from Island Park in Springfield to the Beltline Exchange in Eugene.     River enthusiasts in Eugene are invited to take part in the 2016 Great Willamette Clean Up, a free family-friendly public event, uniting clean-up efforts across 187 river miles in Oregon. Volunteer teams will be picking up trash along the Ruth Bascom Riverbank Trail. Register to volunteer at http://greatwillamettecleanup.eventbrite.com. Tools, water, gloves and instruction provided. Come prepared with appropriate footwear and clothing that can get dirty. Ninkasi Brewing is hosting a Thank You Party after the clean-up. Also enjoy free lunch, live music and prizes.
