Set your account to send reminders of upcoming due dates by email, phone, or text.
Double-check DVD and CD cases to make sure all pieces are included when you return them.
Do not share your library card or number with others.
Fines and fees can be paid online, in person, or by phone.
There are no overdue fines for kids’ and teen items.
There are no overdue fines for online items.
Overdue fines for adult items are .50 per item per day; maximum charge is $10 per item. (Exception: for laptop computers, overdue fine is $10 per day; maximum charge is $50.)
Grace period: if an item is returned within 3 days of the due date, overdue fines will not be charged. If an item is returned 4 or more days overdue, overdue fines will be charged for each day from the due date.
Overdue fines are not charged, and not visible in your online account, until after the item has been returned.
If charges on a library card reach $100 or more, the card can’t be used until the account is resolved.
Incomplete, lost, and damaged items
If an item is returned missing one or more pieces, we will contact you to let you know. We can’t check in the item until all pieces are returned. Overdue fines may apply in the meantime.
If an item is not returned or is still missing pieces by 30 days past the due date, the item is considered lost and we send a bill for the cost to replace it.
If a returned item is too damaged for others to use, we send a bill for the cost to replace it.
We cannot accept a new copy of a lost or damaged item instead of billing for the cost to replace it.
