EPD Police Training
The Eugene Police Department’s Training Section is responsible for conducting both recruit training and continuing training for all sworn personnel and civilian employees. The Training Section operates from the public safety training complex located at 1705 W. 2nd Avenue in Eugene.
Despite the enormous amount of information and hand-on skills learned in the recruit academy, police officers must continue training throughout their careers to maintain their skills and keep up with constantly changing information. The Training Section holds required in-service trainings on topics including:

- De-escalation
- Defensive tactics
- Diversity and cultural awareness
- Emergency driving re-certification
- Ethics
- Field force training
