The Eugene City Council is seeking public input on a proposal to change the name of Broadway Plaza to Kesey Square.
Broadway Plaza is a public square located at the corner of Broadway and Willamette Street in downtown Eugene. At its work session on April 19, the council initiated a process for changing the name of Broadway Plaza to Kesey Square, including a public comment period, the purpose of which is to ensure that the proposed name is acceptable to the community.
The City Council will consider all input and, unless further deliberation is needed, is planning to vote on the proposed name change at one of the regular council meetings in September 2017.
The public comment period is open now and will continue until late August or early September, approximately one week prior to the City Council’s consideration of the change. Once the agenda item is scheduled, a date for closing of the public comment period will be published.
