Bike Friendly Businesses

Travel Oregon Program

The Travel Oregon Bike Friendly Business Program is focused on service oriented businesses that are welcoming to people who ride bikes.

The program offers recognition and training aimed to:

  • Provide tips and tools for how businesses can be Bike Friendly
  • Help businesses understand the importance of Oregon’s growing bicycle tourism industry
  • Highlight businesses who commit to enhancing the Oregon biking experience for visitors and Oregonians

The program is supported by Travel Lane County and provides a great way for businesses to highlight what they are doing to support people on bikes. Once a business registers they can purchase a sign made specifically for the services they offer and then use the Bike Friendly Business materials to highlight what they are doing to promote and support people on bikes

League of American Bicyclists Program

The League of American Bicyclists Bicycle Friendly Business Program allows employers to be recognized for their efforts to encourage a welcoming atmosphere for employees, customers and the community members bicycling. Eugene businesses recognized as of 2021 include Cascadian Courier Collective, Mountain Rose Herbs, and PeaceHealth Rides.

The application process is more involved than the Travel Oregon program but applicants receive:

  • A ranking as a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum level Bicycle Friendly Business
  • Valuable feedback and assistance in becoming more welcoming to bicycling
  • Recognition in a national press release, through the League’s social media and on their interactive awards map

Apply to the program and see how bicycling can help your business create more energized, alert, and productive employees, decrease your healthcare costs, attract and retain top talent and draw more customers.
