You’ve probably seen our bright banners waving or heard tunes in the park. Maybe you’ve noticed the murals popping up across town or enjoyed one of our fun (and free!) events.
We’re proud to support a thriving arts and cultural sector by bringing fun, accessible, and resonant arts and culture programs to all residents in our community. We’re pairing up with partners like you to produce our signature events: EUGfun, Visual Arts Week and Coffin Races.

EUGfun Event Series
June - November
EUGfun offers more than 100 free, inclusive, family-friendly events every year. From music to movies, dancing to drama, EUGfun brings inspiring entertainment and healthy living activities across the community.
Annually, the EUGfun event series collaborates with more than 200 local community groups and artists and draws nearly 60,000 community members to its programs.
“Thank you for this meaningful event that brought together folks from all walks of life.” – Laura Z. EUGfun 2019
Visual Arts Week
Visual Arts Week brings together hundreds of local, regional, national and international artists through the Mayor’s Art Show, murals, contemporary art installations, pop-up experiences, artist talks, workshops, studio tours and local gallery experiences.
Our vision is to celebrate and give visibility to our visual arts community by providing a platform for experimentation, creativity and dialogue.
Art creates a vibrant community and makes Eugene a great place to live and visit.
Co-presented by City of Eugene Cultural Services, Lane Arts Council and Maude Kerns Art Center.
“I love how much wonderful art is happening all over our sweet little town.” – Chris D. Visual Arts Week 2019
EUGfun Coffin Races
Get ready for ghoulish thrills at the third annual EUGfun Coffin Races. This mad-cap Halloween-themed soap box derby is fun for the whole family. Hand-built, coffin-themed race cars scream with speed, fun and fantasy down Lincoln Street from Skinner Butte.
In addition to white-knuckle spectacles, friends and families can get creative at craft booths, enjoy locally brewed cider and beer, and eat their hearts out while cheering on their favorite teams. In 2019, 3,700 visitors of all ages enjoyed the Coffin Races.
“Thank you City of Eugene, EUGfun! and all the incredible volunteers who make this event so great. So many fantastic coffins and characters. This event is a great addition to our annual community calendar.” - Melissa S. Coffin Races 2019
