2020 Construction at EUG

Taxiway Alpha,EUG, 2020, Construction, Main Runway ClosureIt is construction time here at EUG as we complete the 3rd year of a 3-year project to rehabilitate the taxi ways on our main runway.

Some FAQs regarding this summer’s construction:

  • Construction began on June 1st and is scheduled to last for 100-120 days.

  • The project is funded entirely by a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation and no local funds/taxes were used.

  • With construction currently happening on our main runway all aircraft utilizing EUG currently use our secondary runway, which lies to the east of the terminal.

  • The use of a single runaway versus the normal two runways can cause variations in flight patterns for aircraft around EUG.

  • Flight patterns are under the control of the Air Traffic Control Tower which is run by the FAA, not the airport.

  • Many factors influence the flight patterns they choose to assign to air craft in the area of EUG, including wind, visibility, air craft type, etc.

  • If you wish to make a noise complaint or report unsafe flying the best resource is FAA.gov.
