Artist Bio

I was born in Michigan and fell in love with the look and feel of the forests and lakes of the upper part of the Lower Peninsula. After graduation, I moved to Los Angeles and started my career in the Entertainment Industry. At the same time I was working at Walt Disney TV Animation, I was studying photography, thus serendipity played its part and I was hired to be their exclusive photographer for all department events. Ultimately, I expanded my practice to include family portraiture and professional headshots. I moved to Eugene in 2002, which was reminiscent of the spiritually of Michigan's terrain. I viewed an infrared photography exhibit at Maude Kerns Art Center in 2018, which reignited my passion.

Artist Statement

My portfolio covers landscape, portraiture and nature images. In 2018, I started experimenting with black and white infrared photography and became obsessed with capturing the scene with my infrared-converted digital camera. Initially, I worked at refining technical skills and post-processing effects. My latest project is catching the emotion of the scene and eliciting color from the infrared images. The image submitted is a perfect representation of my progress.
