Congratulations to the 2021 Bold Steps Award Winner, Marley's Monsters!
The Bold Steps Award recognizes Eugene-based sustainable businesses and represents a partnership between The City of Eugene, Eugene Mayor Lucy Vinis, and BRING’s Rethink business program.
Winning businesses receive marketing assistance including print ads and a professionally produced video, as well as recognition from the Mayor and community members at the annual State of the City event.
This year, Marley’s Monsters was named Winner of the 2021 Bold Steps Award by Eugene Mayor, Lucy Vinis, during the annual State of the City Address on January 6.
Marley's Monsters locally manufactures reusable products that replace single-use disposable products in households and offers sustainable solutions for bath, beauty, and home. All Marley’s Monster’s products are handmade in-house from raw material and the company also offers locally made low-impact living essentials.
Each year, the City works with a committee to select three Bold Steps finalists from those nominated. In addition to this year’s winner the other finalists for the award were PakTech, and Summit Bank.
The 2020 winner of the Bold Steps Award was East West Tea Company, also known as Yogi Tea.
To qualify for consideration for the Bold Steps award, businesses must be certified through the Rethink program which offers businesses free, on-site consultation to reduce waste and save money.
