Congratulations to the 2022 Bold Steps Award Finalists!

The Bold Steps Award recognizes Eugene-based sustainable businesses and represents a partnership between The City of Eugene, Eugene Mayor Lucy Vinis, and BRING’s Rethink business program.

About the 2022 Bold Steps Finalists

Arcimoto manufactures electric vehicles in Eugene and sources materials locally whenever possible.  Arcimoto’s mission is to catalyze the shift to a more sustainable future for the planet.

PakTech is a family owned local producer of 100% recycled packaging. PakTech beverage handles are made with recycled HDPE resin such as recycled milk jugs. PakTech products can be recycled and made into composite lumber, flower pots, park benches, and more.

Summit Bank is a locally owned business bank that has been recognized as one of the top 100 Green Businesses by Oregon Business Magazine for several years in a row. Giving back to the community is the cornerstone of Summit Bank’s mission, donating $150,000 for microloans to underserved members of our community, particularly those operating out of low income areas.

About the program

Winning businesses receive marketing assistance including print ads and recognition from the Mayor and community members at the annual State of the City event.

The City works with a committee to select three Bold Steps finalists from those nominated for this award and all finalists receive a professionally produced video highlighting their sustainability efforts.

To qualify for consideration for the Bold Steps award, businesses must be certified through the Rethink program which offers businesses free, on-site consultation to reduce waste and save money.
