We'll learn how to be friends with animals and keep them safe. We'll discover that animals have feelings too and need our kindness. We'll learn to ask permission before petting or approaching them and to be gentle when we do. We'll also find out which animals we shouldn't touch or try to feed without a grown-up around. By learning how to be respectful and kind to animals, we can make sure they're happy and safe, and we can be safe too! Let's explore the world of animals and become animal safety superheroes together
Animal Welfare Supervisor Shannon Lighty, with the help of Community Engagement Team Program Managers Harlow Meno and Jeff Blondé, demonstrates the proper way to approach a dog we may want to pet or visit. We don’t want anyone getting hurt, so first make sure you always ask permission of the adult you are with, also ask permission of the owner of the dog and then follow the other tips in our video.
