About Us

The Eugene Public Library supports an informed community, lifelong learning and the love of reading by providing access for all city residents to the universe of ideas and information.

The Library provides a variety of informational, educational, and recreational material to 4,000 patrons every day.

  • The Library’s collection, available at all three locations, includes: audiobooks, books, CDs, downloadable music, DVDs, eBooks, newspapers, magazines, cultural passes, and electronic resources.
  • Library staff provide research assistance and reading suggestions in person, by phone, or via instant message chat.
  • Each year, the Library sponsors more than 2,000 free events for all ages.
  • More than 100 computers are available; they offer access to the Internet, the Info Hub online resources, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Many services are available 24/7.

For the past five years, the Library has been rated a "Star Library," placing it among the top three percent of public libraries for excellence in delivering key services per dollar.
