Flash Fiction Workshop at the Library

Tuesday, July 18, 2017

Part of the "Step Into Stories" public art project.

At this free workshop, learn the craft of writing (very!) short fiction from flash fiction expert Bruce Holland Rogers, and then submit your story for exhibition.

Wordcrafters in Eugene, in partnership with the City of Eugene, is searching for new work to refresh “Step Into Stories,” a series of short writing by local authors exhibited in the stairwells of the Overpark garage on Oak Street. Participants in this workshop will get a chance to develop evocative short stories, which they can then submit for consideration.

Bruce Holland Rogers has published fiction in a variety of genres, traditions, and lengths, winning national and international awards for literary fiction, science fiction, fantasy, horror, and mystery fiction. He is best known as a prolific writer of very short fiction, with over 400 pieces of flash fiction to his credit. He contributed two prose pieces to the first generation of “Step Into Stories.”

The “Step Into…” contests and workshops are a collaboration of Wordcrafters in Eugene and ePark Eugene/ For more information, visit
