Dianne Dugaw is a scholar, teacher, folksinger, and creative writer who has recorded two musical CDs and penned songs, stories, a memoir in progress, and more than 50 articles and four scholarly books on historical topics including cross-dressing women heroes and the origins of musical comedy. Dugaw has taught English and Folklore at the University of Oregon, Harvard, University of Colorado, and UCLA and has performed widely in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Amanda Wright Powell’s poems appear in the chapbook “Prowler,” anthologies including “From Here We Speak: Oregon Poets” and “This Assignment is SO GAY: LGBTIQ Poets on the Art of Teaching,” and journals including Northwest Review, Ploughshares, and Sinister Wisdom. She has been awarded an Oregon Literary Fellowship, a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Jabberwock Review Nancy Hargrove Editors' Prize for Poetry. Powell recently retired from teaching as a Senior Lecturer in Spanish literature and translation at the University of Oregon.
