Windfall Reading: Live Online

The library hosts writers Kate Gray and Judith Barrington.

Join Lane Literary Guild and Eugene Public Library for a livestream of the Windfall Reading Series, a monthly gathering highlighting local and regional writers. This month, writers Kate Gray and Judith Barrington will read and take questions online. Watch live or watch the recording later.

Kate Gray is a writer, teacher, Gateless writing coach, and a volunteer. Her poetry collection “Another Sunset We Survive” was a finalist for the Oregon Book Award. She won the Gertrude Press Poetry Prize for her chapbook “Bone-Knowing” and the Blue Light Chapbook Prize for “Where She Goes,” as well as many other awards and residency awards. Her most recent works are “For Every Girl: New & Selected Poems” and the novel, “Carry the Sky.” She is currently working on a novel narrated in Sylvia Plath’s voice. After 25 years teaching English at a community college, Gray has retired to coach writing.

Judith Barrington is a widely published poet whose most recent collection is “Long Love: New & Selected Poems.” Her poems have appeared in literary journals including Prairie Schooner, Americas Review, Kenyon Review, ZYZZVA, The American Voice, and Poetry London. Additionally, her work “Lifesaving: A Memoir” was the winner of the Lambda Book Award and a finalist for the PEN/Martha Albrand Award for the Art of the Memoir. Barrington has taught at the University of Alaska, Anchorage’s MFA Program, The Poetry School (UK), Stanford University, The Arvon Foundation, and programs across the U.S. She co-founded Soapstone Inc., an organization offering study groups on women writers in Portland.
