Great Willamette River Clean up
Saturday, October 2, 2021
Join Willamette Riverkeeper and the City of Eugene Parks and Open Spaces as we get dirty for GOOD during our Great Willamette Clean Up Series!
Over the past 18 months, due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Willamette River and many other places in our great outdoors have experienced record usage in terms of visitors and recreation. Unfortunately, this has lead to a lot of trash and debris left behind. Your river needs you more than ever!
Sign up and volunteer with us at one of our many events happening throughout the Willamette watershed. We will adhere to any updated social distancing guidelines, and working in smaller than usual groups in order to protect ourselves while we improve the Willamette River.
Please wear weather appropriate clothing, pack along water, a face mask to be worn during check in and when working in close proximity to others, work gloves if you have them and sturdy close toed shoes. We will provide trash bags, non-latex gloves and trash pickers.
Trash or Treasure Contest: During the cleanup, keep on the lookout and take photos of your unique trash finds for our Trash or Treasure Contest! Tag Willamette Rivereeper and #GreatWillametteCleanup in your photos on Instagram and Facebook. Winners will be announced at the end of the month.
