Windfall Reading (Online)

Tuesday, May 17, 2022

This month featuring poets Ingrid Wendt and Tim Whitsel.

Join Lane Literary Guild and Eugene Public Library for a livestream of the Windfall Reading Series, a monthly gathering highlighting local and regional writers. This month, poets Ingrid Wendt and Tim Whitsel will read and take questions online.

Ingrid Wendt is a poet, editor, and educator. The author of five books of poems and a guide to teaching writing in the classroom, she is co-editor of the Oregon poetry anthologies “From Here We Speak” and “In Her Own Image: Women Working in the Arts." Wendt has taught at all educational levels, including the MFA program of Antioch University and as a Fulbright Professor in Germany. Recent poems appear in Poetry, Terrain, About Place, Valparaiso Poetry Review, Calyx, Cirque, and others. Newly returned to Eugene from a month in Mexico, she will be reading “poems that mourn what is passing from our lives and celebrate the glories that remain.”

Tim Whitsel is a “journeyman writer from Ft. Wayne.” He has published a chapbook, “We Say Ourselves” and a book “Wish Meal,” and is currently circulating a new manuscript of poems entitled “After Pink Moon.” His poems have been published in journals including December and Cirque. Since high school, he has lived almost entirely on the West Coast, where long ago he studied with Stanley Plumly, David Wagoner, Meredith Steinbach, and Colleen McElroy. He directed the Windfall Reading Series for six years and has been a member of Eugene's Poetry 1 Critique workshop for more than 25 years.
