Community Philosophy Circle at the Library

Wednesday, February 14, 2024

Gather for a lively and thoughtful conversation on the topic of empathy.

Explore big philosophical questions in a community conversation facilitated by philosopher-educators Paul Bodin and Caroline Lundquist.  This month, the topic is empathy.

We'll explore questions including: Should we be empathic to the lives of other people? Are there limits to empathy? Is it even possible to “walk in another’s shoes?” When does empathy turn into sympathy? Is it in our best interests to be kind?

This monthly forum for people of all ages and backgrounds offers an opportunity to  share opinions and ideas in a structured setting to explore challenging topics with civility and consideration. With a different theme each month, the conversations address deep and universal questions about life, identity, community, and responsibility.
