[ARCHIVED] Cold Weather Pet Safety

Winter weather is back in Eugene, and just like people, animals get cold too. When the temperature drops, it is important to consider the needs of your pet, and to keep them safe and in a warm location.

The American Veterinary Medical Association offers a list of guidelines on their website to inform pet owners of items to consider when the weather gets cold, such as understanding the limitations of your pet, and recognizing when there is a problem.

Eugene Animal Welfare Officers emphasize the importance of bringing pets inside during cold weather, and always having warm bedding for the pet if they stay in the garage.
