[ARCHIVED] Eugene Recreation is offers fun for Spring Break

Teens and youth play a game

Whether your child prefers playing physically, using her imagination, having an adventure or competition, Eugene Recreation has a fun and active camp that he or she will love. Registration is now underway for camps, most held March 24-28.

In Tots Soccer Academy, experienced coaches will introduce 3-5 year-old youngsters to the joys of the world’s most popular sport. This camp is held at Petersen Barn Park, 9-10 a.m., March 24 -28.

Petersen Barn Preschool Camp will keep kids, ages 3-5, busy from 9 a.m.-noon with indoor/outdoor games, silly challenges and plenty of art and craft fun.

Its “Old School Cool” at KidCity Adventures camp at Sheldon Center and Pool March 24-31, 7:30 a.m-6 p.m. Youth in grades K-5 choose arts, sports, water games, pool parties and more.

Participants in 8th grade and younger will learn passing, shooting, dribbling, and ball handling at Water Polo Camp held at Echo Hollow Pool & Fitness Center March 24-28, 8-11 a.m.

Youth ages 10-15 attending Camp Arrowhead will travel to a wilderness destination to learn survival skills, including archery, tracking, camouflage, and first aid March 24-26, 9 a.m.-3:30 Petersen Barn Center.

At Construction and Contraption Camp, 6-9 year olds will use their intellect to imagine, design, build and craft crazy contraptions, catapults and castles, March 24-28, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Petersen Barn Center.

It’s Spy vs. Spy Camp as the Alpha team tracks the Echo team; they all make and break codes and create and complete mental and physical challenges and hone tracking and evasion skills at Petersen Barn Center, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., March 24-28.

Tweens and teens, ages 10-15, work together on service projects that earn them activities such as canoeing, sand-boarding, and hiking in Counselor-In-Training camp, held at Amazon Community Center March 24-28, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Spring Break Quest Camp is designed for individuals, ages 12-21, with physical disabilities.
