On March 5, the City of Eugene Budget Committee voted to support City Manager Jon Ruiz' plan to keep the Bethel Branch of Eugene Public Library open; and to keep the Sheldon Branch open for the coming year while exploring options for future funding. This plan will also reduce the Downtown Library's Sunday hours as a cost-saving measure. In April, Ruiz will present his final budget proposal, and the committee will resume meeting.
