[ARCHIVED] Police Arrest Suspect in 2/28 Vehicle-pedestrian Hit and Run Crash

Yesterday, March 20, the Eugene Police Department Major Collision Investigations Unit arrested Benjamin Michael Stanton, age 25, for Felony Hit and Run, and DUII in a vehicle/pedestrian hit and run case case. Stanton was lodged at the Lane County Jail on the above listed charges. The investigation is on-going, and anyone with additional information is asked to contact Officer Michael Klews at 541-682-5138

Hit and Run Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Crash
Case No. 14-03418


On 02-28-2014, at approximately 1946 hours, (7:46 pm), Eugene Police Officers along with the Eugene Fire Department responded to a vehicle vs pedestrian crash near the intersection of Garfield Street and West 9th Avenue.

The female pedestrian, who resides in Eugene, was transported to a local hospital, with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The vehicle, later located and identified as a Chrysler Town and Country, left the area following the crash, and the driver remains outstanding.

The Eugene Police Major Collision Investigations Unit arrived and closed the street for approximately 3 hours, to collect evidence.

Anyone who was in the area of the intersection, of Garfield and West 9th Avenue, just prior of the crash, or immediately following the crash, regardless of if you consider yourself a witness or not, is asked to contact Officer Michael Klews, with the Eugene Police Major Collisions Investigations Unit, at 541-682-5576. ###
