Eugene Recreation is offering several classes in martial arts this spring, including Introduction to Karate for youth in grades one through six, and Introduction to Fencing for ages eight to eleven years. Both classes and will be held at on Wednesday afternoon at Amazon Community Center from April 9 – May 28.
The karate class will help students improve listening skills, develop concentration, learn personal discipline, and respect for others. It’s a great way to build confidence and gain self-esteem while exercising and having fun! The class is held from 4-4:45 and taught by an instructor from the Eugene School of Karate. The cost is $64.
The Introduction to Foil Fencing class concentrates on discipline, balance, coordination, sportsmanship, and above all fun! Fencing is a classic martial sport with history, art, style and drama, as well as a fun physical activity for kids. Equipment provided. Parents are welcome to participate. The Fencing class will be held from 4:15 – 4:45 p.m. The cost is $65
