Young Women's Fire Camp Photo

Eugene Springfield Fire is hosting the Annual Young Women’s Fire Camp July 7 - 11, 2014. This is a day camp for young women who are 15 - 19 years old and will be held at the Emergency Services Training Center at 2nd & Chambers in Eugene. The camp is provided at no charge to participants, thanks to the support of community members and partnering agencies. The goals of the camp are to build leadership and team skills, instill confidence, and provide a safe environment for young women to experience firefighting tasks through hands-on drills such as live fire training, rope rappelling, and emergency medical response scenarios. Participants are determined by a thorough application process. Applications are now available for anyone interested in applying and can be accessed here. The application process will close at 5 pm on Friday, June 4, 2014. For more information, contact Barb Courtney at 541-682-7135 or email firecamp@ci.eugene.or.us.

Application can be downloaded here.
