Update:

Update : A 27-year-old male was found deceased at the house. He did not live at the involved address. No one else was injured and there are no outstanding suspects. The cause and manner of death (within the jurisdiction and responsibility of the medical examiner) are still under investigation. The identity of the deceased may be released as early as tomorrow. ###

Case 14-6477

Eugene Police are investigating a death in the 1100 Block of Woodside. At around 6:43 this morning, 9-1-1 was called regarding a fire and possible shots fired. Fire and police responded. A person was found deceased. A Community Emergency Notification System message was sent to warn surrounding neighborhood residents to stay in their homes and report anything suspicious.

Police have contained the scene and there is no ongoing public safety threat. The fire has been suppressed and multiple police resources are on scene including Arson Investigators, Violent Crimes Unit, and Forensic Evidence Unit.
