The Annual Wayne Morse Family Farm will be open to the public from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, Formerly a working cattle and horse farm, the site was the family home of Oregon Senator Wayne Morse who represented Oregon in the U. S. Senate from 1944 to1968 .today it is a 26-acre multi-use Eugene City Park and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Open house is sponsored by the Wayne Morse Historical Park Corporation.
The open house will include house tours, an exhibit of the famous political cartoons highlighting Senator Morse’s opposition to the Vietnam War; OPB’s “Wayne Morse” 30-minute documentary, Marimba Bands, and an ice cream social.
The Wayne Morse Family farm is located at 595 Crest Drive. To get there, take Willamette Street south to 32nd St.; turn right onto Crest Drive and drive ½ mile up the hill.
