In the City of Eugene, construction permit fees support the permit process and activities that ensure safe buildings and facilities in our community. These range from the review of construction plans all the way through final inspections of new buildings. During the economic challenges of the recession, fees were held stable for four years and reserve funds were used to sustain service levels without significantly increasing fees. As the economy has begun to recover, construction activity is also recovering and is expected to continue to gradually increase.
In order to support this positive momentum by maintaining responsive services, a proposed Administrative Order 53-14-04 would adjust construction permit fees with an approximate 4% increase. The proposed fee adjustments would go into effect on July 1, 2014. A link to a full copy of the Administrative Order is on our website.
