[ARCHIVED] How Prepared are YOU?

The City of Eugene Emergency Management Program, with support from Eugene/Springfield Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers, is offering Disaster Preparedness training to community members within the Eugene/Springfield metropolitan area.

This Disaster Preparedness training helps community members understand hazards that could potentially affect our area including earthquakes, flooding, and wildfires. The presentation will also cover the work that the City of Eugene and Springfield Emergency Management Programs are doing to help mitigate the impacts of disasters.

This training will help participants understand what to expect following a major disaster and provide an introduction to skills that will allow community members to support themselves, their family, and potentially neighbors, until professional emergency responders can assist. Additionally, this presentation includes information on potable water, how to build a 72 hour kit, and how to create a family communication plan.

The City of Eugene’s Emergency Management Program is hosting this event:

Date: September 23, 2014
Time: 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
Location: Emergency Services Training Facility, 1705 W 2nd Avenue, Eugene, OR 97402
