Want to play with clay? Eugene Recreation has a class for you. In a class beginning Nov. 3 (late registration can be prorated), learn to make and decorate ceramic tile. In classes that begin Nov. 30, you and your child can work together to make clay ornaments. More experienced potters can sign up for five dates to use the clay arts studio on their own.
The hands-on Tile Design and Decorating class is for people with all levels of experience. You’ll explore different ways to make ceramic tiles and how to use the colorful glazes. The $42 registration fee includes basic materials and firing.
The Holiday Ornaments class for parent and child will be held on Sundays, Nov. 30-Dec. 14, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A master potter will teach parents and children how to make clay decorations to adorn your home or to give as gifts. $30 registration fee.
Clay Arts Open Studios is an opportunity for adults experienced in working with clay to take time for their personal art projects. Instruction is not provided. When you enroll in Clay Open Arts Studio, you'll select five Tuesdays, through Dec. 16, 6-9 p.m., to use the studio. The $55 registration fee includes 25 pounds of clay, glazes, and firing.
