[ARCHIVED] Sex Abuse Suspect Arrested, Police Seek Information

Eugene Police Violent Crimes Unit followed up on a rape reported by a victim to an agency from another state and yesterday at 3:46 p.m. arrested Marvin Paul Harley, age 48, of Oregon City, for Sex Abuse in the First Degree, Sodomy in the Second Degree, Rape in the Second Degree, and Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the Second Degree.
The victim, reported the crimes occurred in Eugene between 2000 and 2002. The victim, a female relative, was a juvenile and lived in Harley’s home. At the time, he was also acting as a coach for middle-school age children. Because of the nature of the crimes and the fact that Harley was living in Eugene at the time, detectives are seeking to determine if there are any other victims. The sports he was coaching include co-ed basketball and track, as well as football. If anyone has relevant information in this case, they are asked to call detective Ben Hall at 541.682.5835.
