[ARCHIVED] Radio Redux adds Saturday performance of It's a Wonderful Life

acters performing

By popular demand, Radio Redux has added a third performance of its radio-theater reenactment of, “It’s a Wonderful Life”. The holiday classic has been a Radio Redux hit for the past three seasons and sold out last year. In addition to the previously scheduled performances on Friday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m., the show will now also be performed on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. All performances are in the Soreng Theater at the Hult Center for Performing Arts.

“It’s a Wonderful Life” tells the tale of a bumbling guardian angel that shows a ruined banker how much he means to the world. The Radio Redux cast will perform the radio-theater version of the classic bittersweet comedy/drama just as it was in the 1940s, with live sound effects, period commercials and a stellar cast that bring the town of Bedford Falls to life.

Tickets for “It’s a Wonderful Life” are $21 with discounts for seniors, students, and groups of eight or more, and can be purchased at HultCenter.org or 541-682-5000.

Local actor and arts reviewer Fred Crafts founded Radio Redux in 2009. His goals for Radio Redux are to celebrate radio’s rich history, revive its most-memorable moments, preserve its unique art form, and introduce its wonders to new audiences. Radio Redux became a Hult Center Resident Company in October of this year.
