[ARCHIVED] Railroad Notifies City of 2015 Vegetation Control Spray Season

The City of Eugene has been notified by Union Pacific Railroad that it is beginning the 2015 vegetation control spray program. Spraying is expected to begin March 16, 2015, weather and train movement permitting. The spray pattern will be 24' wide, 12' on each side from the center of the tracks. Union Pacific will be using the following herbicides: Accord XRP, Activator 90, Oust XP and Perspective.

As part of a Good Neighbor Agreement, Union Pacific notifies the City of Eugene of its intent to spray for vegetation control along the tracks within City limits so that the City can provide that information to the community. The City of Eugene, however, does not control the method of weed control, what is sprayed or when the spraying occurs.

Additional information is available and questions may be submitted at Union Pacific’s website.
