The officer observed Barney Buse, age 62, driving a vehicle with expired registration near W. 1st/Bertelsen at approximately 1:40 pm today. The officer gave Buse clear commands to and then when that didn't work, deployed his taser to defend himself from further attack. Buse continued to fight as the officer tried to handcuff him and the officer had to use blows to stop the assault and bring Buse under control. Other officers arrived to assist and Buse was handcuffed.
