[ARCHIVED] 2015 Construction Season Hits the Streets

Construction begins this week on more than 30 Public Works projects totaling more than $15 million to fix streets, enhance parks and natural areas, repair damaged sewer lines and make other major improvements that benefit people who live, visit and do business in Eugene.

The 2015 Proposed Construction Project list is also available online. The largest category of projects is transportation related receiving primary funding through the 2012 voter-approved bond measure and the local gas tax. Highlights of the 2015 project list include 10 major street repair contracts that will fix portions of 30 streets with an additional 16 receiving slurry seal treatment. The resurfacing of Garden Way (Sisters View to Harlow Road) and Willakenzie (Coburg Road to Bogart Lane) is the first project. In the alternative transportation category 4 bicycle and pedestrian projects are scheduled including sidewalk and crossing upgrades.
