We Are Bethel, the free annual neighborhood celebration, is on Saturday, June 6, noon - 5 p.m. at Petersen Barn Community Center, 870 Berntzen Road. Themed as “Drawn Together,” the celebration features a free cartoon and animation mash-up youth art show open to public voting. Hoping to promote arrival by bike, there will be a pre-event bike parade presented by Beyond Toxics and Mountain Rose Herbs that will end at the community center. Bicyclists will be treated to a bike valet and raffle prizes on the hour.
“This year’s ‘Drawn Together’ theme invites Bethel Residents to celebrate their community of heroes through interactive installations, artistic performances, and community conversations,” said Peter Chavannes, senior recreation programmer at Petersen Barn Community Center. “The We Are Bethel Celebration is a moment when we stand together and recognize our collective beauty.”
Entertainment will include performances on two stages throughout the day and many other fun interactive activities like a video game obstacle course, a painting pin ball machine, community booths, an inflatable obstacle course and giant slide, 25 cent carnival games and a fortune teller.
