[ARCHIVED] Library Parking: Temporary Garage Closure

Due to construction, the Downtown Library’s underground parking level will be closed from Monday, July 27 through Friday, August 7. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by this temporary closure.

When will the garage be closed?
Monday, July 27 through Friday, August 7.

Is there other parking near the Downtown Library?
Street parking and other City garage parking will be available as usual during this time, including disabled and wheelchair user parking. The Downtown Library will remain accessible by bus, foot, and bicycle.

Any other options?
Yes! Eugene Public Library’s Bethel and Sheldon branches offer full services with parking in large surface lots directly outside their doors. Cardholders may borrow items at any location and return them to any location. Schedule of hours at Bethel and Sheldon branches.

What is the construction for?
The construction project will replace the large metal gates across the garage entrance. The existing gates have been in heavy use for more than 12 years, and in addition to expected wear and tear, have been hit by cars more than once. The new gates will provide an improved system for daily opening and closing, and a barrier arm that lowers when garage is closed to alert drivers before they reach the gates.

From all of us at your Library: our apologies, and our thanks for your patience and flexibility.
