Eugene-based businesses certified by BRING's RE:think Business program can now apply for the Mayor's annual Bold Steps Award. The Bold Steps Award recognizes businesses that embody a triple-bottom line approach to sustainability, balancing the needs of people and the planet with prosperity. Applications are due Tuesday, September 15 and can be accessed at www.eugene-or.gov/boldsteps

ThermoFisher Scientific was awarded the 2015 Bold Steps Award by Mayor Piercy at Eugene’s State of the City event on January 7, 2015. The other finalists for the award were Café Yumm! and Essex General Construction. As the winner, ThermoFisher Scientific took the Bold Steps trophy back to their place of business to display for the year, and received free print marketing as well as a 90-second video promoting their sustainable operations.
