[ARCHIVED] Police Investigate Fatal Crash at Crescent and Chuckanut

Police are investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred at 9:14 a.m. today at Crescent Avenue and Chuckanut and that closed Crescent Avenue from Coburg to Gilham until shortly after 1 p.m.

While the Eugene Police Major Collision Investigation Team is in the beginning stages of crash investigation, preliminary indications are that a 2011 gold Cadillac sedan was travelling northbound on Chuckanut and a 1993 dark blue Ford Ranger was headed eastbound on Crescent when they collided.

The male driver of the Cadillac was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The female driver of the pickup was taken to another local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Names of the involved drivers are expected to be released late this afternoon after next of kin have had a chance to call other family members and close friends.
