[ARCHIVED] Details Released in Fatal Motorcyle Crash on Willamette

At 10:38 p.m. on August 29, a large EWEB utility truck pulling a backhoe was turning left/southbound onto Willamette Street from 35th. A motorcyclist, Daishon Lawrence-Michael Havens, age 22, of Eugene, was traveling northbound on Willamette Street as the truck was making the left/southbound turn.

The motorcyclist failed to stop and collided with the trailer. The initial investigation suggests he laid the motorcycle down prior to impacting the trailer. The motorcyclist went under the trailer and was killed immediately. Speed appears to be a factor in the crash.

Truck Driver (EWEB Employee)
Aaron Christopher Eisele, age 41, of Springfield

Passenger (EWEB Employee)
Jason Henry Valley, age 42.

Eugene Police Patrol, and Major Collision Investigation Team, as well as Eugene Springfield Fire responded. ###
