[ARCHIVED] Justice Department Grant for Body Cameras

EPD is one of 73 agencies that received a DOJ grant for body worn cameras; there were 285 applications. EPD received the full award requested (maximum allowed for our size jurisdiction) of $249,000. The only other Oregon organization that received an award was Beaverton ($150,000).

EPD and Lane Council of Governments worked together to apply for this grant. There are still additional tasks to be completed, such as obtaining input from our internal/external stakeholders, deciding which vendor to purchase from and determining the best way to store the large sized video files.
