Chicken wrangling is not a required skill for police officers. However, today, a call to respond to the Oregon Department of Revenue office, 1600 Valley River Drive, Suite 310, presented the need for the ability to catch and secure a flock left inside the office.
At about 12:21 p.m., a man who was angry with the agency dropped off his flock of seven chickens. A Eugene Police officer responded and called a Eugene animal welfare officer and together they herded and rounded up the chickens, which were then taken to 1st Avenue Shelter.
The man who left the chickens, Louis John Adler, age 66, of Creswell, was trespassed from the location. ###
