[ARCHIVED] LTD/Truck Crash at Franklin and Orchard

At around 12:06 p.m. today, March 17, an LTD bus, driven by Carl Faddis, age 62, was headed westbound on Franklin in the dedicated bus lane. A Ford F-350, driven by Cindy Janice Scott, age 56, of Ramona, California, was headed westbound on Franklin and ran a red light as it turned westbound onto southbound Orchard, colliding with the bus.

According to LTD, the bus was full and had 45 passengers. At least five people were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries, including a 7-month-old girl. The infant was in a stroller and her mother was holding onto it, but lost her grip on it by the force of the crash. The stroller rolled and the baby hit her head on a metal bar. According to the report received by the officer at the hospital, she did not have any apparent injuries.

Scott, the driver of the Ford, was cited for Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device.

Traffic was shut down at the intersection for about an hour, and then reopened.
