[ARCHIVED] Eugene Road Construction Updates Now Available on TripCheck.com

TripCheck.com

With the busy road construction season officially underway, the City of Eugene is now posting all construction-related road information to TripCheck.com. The website, which is run by the Oregon Department of Transportation, offers up-to-the-minute information on crashes, hazards, road conditions and construction projects.

City staff will enter and update construction projects throughout the spring and summer, giving people detailed project locations and access to the latest information on specific road and lane closures, the timing of the work being done, and what kind of delays to expect. Drivers can then use the information to determine how the construction projects could impact their daily commutes and adjust accordingly.

The City has identified more than a dozen road projects this year, and two are already underway. Contractors started work on south Willamette Street in February. Construction on the Potter Street project started on March 28. Information on both projects and their impacts to traffic are already visible on TripCheck.com.

TripCheck.com allows users to focus on a specific area, utilizing maps, conditions and cameras to help drivers safely navigate the streets. More and more agencies continue to turn to TripCheck.com, including other cities in Oregon.

While TripCheck.com provides Eugene specific information, the web view always starts at the state level. Users will need to use the zooming tools to see Eugene projects on the map.
All construction related updates will also be posted on Twitter. Please follow @EugenePW for all of the latest traffic and construction information. For more information on this season’s projects, visit www.eugene-or.gov/roadwork.
