[ARCHIVED] EPD Police Chaplains Honored at United Way Volunteer Awards

Eugene Police Chaplains Rich Carroll, Brett Gilchrist, and Steve Hill were presented with the United Way Volunteer Team Award and the Volunteer of the Year Award at a ceremony.

What an amazing team of volunteers they are. They offer their support, encouragement, understanding, wise council, and so much more for the department. They also provide compassionate support to individuals in the community during personal and family crisis.

The team was awarded two $500 checks, which they are donating to the fund used by Eugene Police officers to provide compassionate support when they encounter someone in need during a call for service.

The Register-Guard produced a moving video as a tribute to these great volunteers, and it was played at the ceremony.
