[ARCHIVED] June DUII Saturation Patrols

To address the issue of DUII driving and to ensure enough officers are available to identify, stop and process impaired drivers, DUII patrols will be staffed above and beyond the normal strength in June. These patrols are staffed primarily with the help of funding from state grants, which led to 7 DUII arrests alone from the dedicated patrols in May.

Summer doesn’t officially start until June 20, but warm weather is now in the forecast and there are likely to be more people commuting for recreational purposes, which can also create periods of high traffic. Please be courteous of other drivers and pedestrians, and always remember to be responsible and have a plan to get home safely if you anticipate participating in any events or seasonal activities.

The dedicated patrols alone this year have led to 61 DUII arrests in 2016. Overall, there has been a total of 318 DUII arrests in the first five months of the year, including 52 DUII arrests in the month of May.

DUII Arrests from dedicated patrols:
May – 7 DUII arrests
April – 3 DUII arrests
March – 14 DUII arrests
February – 19 DUII arrests
January – 18 DUII arrests
