July 31 at 11:12 p.m., 1100 block of MillCriminal Trespass 2, Warrant – Case 1612706An officer observed three people on the sidewalk, including a woman sleeping on the grass strip between the sidewalk and street curb at the location, which has a trespass letter on file. Two of the people were warned, the woman, Elesha Dawn Littleboy, age 31, of Eugene, had a warrant from Oregon State Parole Board for Absconding. She was taken into custody on the warrant and charged with Criminal Trespass2.
July 31 at 2:30 p.m., W. 8th Avenue/Olive StreetDUII/Reckless Driving – Case 16-12638Police contacted the driver of gold Chevy Malibu after it was observed crossing the double center line in the area of Broadway and Olive, and a short time later, accelerated northbound onto Olive at a high rate of speed from a parking lot. After further investigation, Sarah Danielle Lowe, age 27, of Springfield was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for DUII and Reckless Driving.
July 31 at 11:57 a.m., 1099 Willamette StreetAssault 2 and Possession of MethamphetamineAn officer was flagged down by a 44-year-old woman, who reported she was assaulted by a man, later identified as Kyle Benjamin Ford, age 30. It was reported Ford jumped up, yelled at her, poured the cup he had been spitting in onto her, hit her, including with a blunt object, and grabbed her wallet. An officer located Ford at E. 7th Avenue and High Street and detained him. He was in possession of methamphetamine. He was charged with Assault in the Second Degree, Robbery 3, and Possession of Controlled Substance, Meth.
July 31 at 3:18 a.m., 2100 block of City View StreetDisorderly Conduct – Case 16-12642Police responded to a residence at the location after receiving information that a prowler knocked over an air conditioner from the window and stared at the residents from outside the window. Police arrived at the location and observed the suspect, screaming and yelling. Police contacted Brendan Shea Hoffay, age 22, and arrested him for Disorderly Conduct and transported him to the Lane County Jail.
July 30 at 2:22 p.m., 4550 W. 11th AvenueFelon in Possession of Firearm, Interfering with Police, False Info to Police Officer, Warrant – Case 1612611Police were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle, possibly an un-reported stolen car, located at the West 11th Walmart. An officer contacted the man sitting the driver’s seat. The man, later identified as Keith James Carlson, age 34, gave a false name and when confronted about this, he exited the vehicle and dropped backpack between himself and the officer before fleeing. Another officer arrived as Carlson was fleeing and chased him through the parking lot, but he lost sight of him. Two Springfield K-9 units responded. While this was occurring, the officer who had made contact found that Carlson had been in possession of a handgun. Carlson was located hiding in some bushes on Walmart property. Carlson refused to give up and comply with commands to show his hands. An SPD K9 was deployed and helped take Carlson into custody. Carlson had multiple felony warrants. He was charged with the warrants, Felon in Possession of Firearm, Interfering, and Providing False Information to Police.
July 30 at 1:35 a.m., 900 block of Olive StreetReckless Endangering/DUII/Reckless Driving – Case 1612576Police responded to a vehicle crash in front of Lucky’s Bar at 933 Olive Street, and observed a GMC Yukon SUV with extensive damage, and received information that the vehicle traveled onto the sidewalk, struck a light pole, and nearly hit a bystander. The driver then parked the vehicle and entered the bar. Police contacted the driver, Ruth Marie Camarda, age 43, of Eugene, and after further investigation, arrested her for Reckless Endangering, DUII and Reckless Driving. She was transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 30 at 1:37 a.m., 700 block of Olive StreetDUII – Case 16-12577Police were flagged down and received information from several people that a possible DUII driver had just hit a parked car. Police observed a silver 2006 Infinity G35 that was occupying two parking spaces, with the engine running, and contacted the driver, Dakota Robert Nevin Bones, age 22, of Creswell. After further investigation, he was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for DUII.
July 30 at 4:20 p.m., 1300 block of Acorn Park StreetCriminal Trespass 1 – Case 16-12614Police responded to the residence after receiving information from an employee at the residence that she contacted a person inside the home who was not supposed to be there, and that the male subject informed her that he was there to do yardwork. Police located the subject, Jason Michael Kukus, age 31, of Eugene, in the yard, after hearing him exit the residence and contacted him regarding the incident. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Criminal Trespass in the First Degree.
July 29 at 11:29 p.m., S. Park Street/W. Park StreetFelon In Possession of Restricted Weapon – 16-12523A police officer patrolling the area contacted Nicholas Leroy Christiansen, age 31, of Eugene, who was in the park after hours, and observed him with a bladed object. The officer contacted Christiansen regarding the hours of the park, and cited him lieu of custody for Felon In Possession of Restricted Weapon.
July 29 at 10:40 p.m., Lakewood Court/Hwy. 99 NDUI – Case 1612568An officer was conducting routine traffic enforcement and observed a pickup truck driving slow and swerving in its lane and crossing the fog line. He stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, Charles William Striewski, age 61, of Eugene. After an investigation, he arrested Striewski for DUI, Failure to Drive in a Single Lane
July 29 at 9:23 p.m., W.7th Avenue/ChambersWarrants - Case 1612564An officer spotted a man, later identified as Daniel Phillip Lundgren, age 40, who was in the eastbound traffic of W. 7th Avenue at Chambers. He was placing traffic cones in the lane of travel, blocking it. The officer contacted him and after identifying him, found he had warrants out of EPD for Violation of Park Rules Failure to Appear, Disorderly Conduct Failure to Appear, and Criminal Mischief 3 Failure to Appear. He was arrested without incident on those charges.
July 29 at 9:17 p.m., Elmira Road/Anton CourtDriving While Suspended – Case 1612563An officer saw a vehicle going west on Elmira with only it’s parking lights on. It swerved into the eastbound lane to avoid speed bumps in the road. He stopped the vehicle, driven by Alton Mayco Williams, age 28, of Eugene. The officer found that Williams’ driving privileges were suspended. He was cited for Driving While Suspended, Failure to Drive in a Single Lane and Driving Without Headlights.
July 29 at 4:27 p.m., 101 Cheshire AvenueCriminal Trespass 2 – Case 1612554While on park patrol, an officer conducted a patrol check of Skinner Butte Park near Lamb’s Cottage. He spotted a man, Rafael Fernandez, age 25, walking in the park whom he had issued a 30-day City Park Restriction to on July 27. He contacted Fernandez, who was compliant, and charged him with Criminal Trespass 2.
July 29 at 4:25 p.m., 800 block of CharneltonPossession of Meth, Warrants – Case 1612555An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired tags. Upon contacting the driver, Jessica Dawn Blanton, age 24, of Eugene, he found she did not have a valid driver’s license, registration or insurance. She was in possession of methamphetamine and had two warrants. She was arrested on the warrants and for Possession of Methamphetamine.
July 29 at 4:05 a.m., 1255 HilyardDUI (CNS Depressants and Narcotic Analgesics), Reckless Driving, Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule 2 – Case 1612533Officer responded to a crash after a call regarding a vehicle that went off the road into bushes and then into cables/pole set up to keep vehicles from hitting the hospital. After investigating, the driver, Erryn Christine King, age 20, of Springfield, was arrested for DUI and Reckless Driving, and Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule 2. Getting the vehicle off the cables was tricky, but successfully performed by Danneviks.
July 29 at 1:03 a.m., 640 W. 7thPossession of Meth – Case 1612526An officer observed six people sitting in the entryway of 640 W. 7th Avenue, where there is no trespassing. He observed Daniel Cole smoking meth. He was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance Methamphetamine. Kari Nicole LucierMcComas, age 41, was charged with Possession of Heroin.
July 29 at 12:59 a.m., W. Broadway/CharneltonPossession of Meth, Failure to Register as Sex Offender, Warrant – Case 1612528An officer spotted a pickup truck with broken taillights approach the intersection of 7th Avenue and Charnelton and fail to come to a complete stop at the red light before turning. The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, Michael James Jensen, 26, of Eugene. The officer found Jensen’s license was suspended and he had a Parole Violation warrant from Lane County parole and Probation. He was in possession of meth. He was lodged on the warrant as well as charged of Possession of Methamphetamine, and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
July 29 at 12:21 a.m., W. 18th/OakpatchDUI – Case 1612515A possible DUI driver was called in by a public member after it almost hit two vehicles. An officer responded and was passed by a pick-up that matched the description and that was having trouble maintaining a lane. The officer stopped it and contacted the driver, Steven Ehreth. Age 21, of Eugene. After investigating, Ehreth was charged with DUI and cited for speeding and not having a driver’s license.
July 28 at 9:23 p.m., 500 block of W. 7th AvenueDisorderly Conduct, Theft 3 – Case 1612517Police were called to a report of a disorderly man swinging a baseball bat at another man. An officer arrived to find Greg Alan Kuntz, 30, of Springfield, holding a bat. The officer persuaded him to drop it and he did. An investigation found that the 48-year-old male victim had dropped some cash and Kuntz picked the money up and kept it. The victim tried to get the money back and a dispute ensued. Kuntz is reported to have chased the victim while swinging the bat. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Theft 3.
July 28, 7:37 p.m., 910 Willamette StreetInterfering With Police Officer/Criminal Trespass 2A police officer in the area of Sizzle Pie restaurant, observed Don Drean Vaxter, age 30, of Los Angeles California, using a shovel to scrape the ground beneath the feet of patrons at the restaurant and causing a disturbance to customers. Vaxter, who had been previously contacted regarding trespassing, disregarded direction from the officer stop, and continued scraping with the shovel. Vaxter subsequently walked away from the officer into the road, stalling traffic at the intersection of Broadway and Willamette, and he was eventually detained, and arrested for Interfering With a Police Officer, Disorderly Conduct and Trespassing in the Second Degree. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 28, 3:47 p.m., 300 Block of W. 11th AvenueTheft 2 – Case 16-12498A police officer in the area received information that a male subject was observed taking money from a subject who was sleeping at the location. The officer contacted the described suspect, Douglas Lynch Childre, age 56, of Eugene, and arrested him for Theft in the Second Degree. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 28 at 3:12 p.m., 2000 Block of WillametteDisorderly Conduct - Case 1612496A 57-year-old woman reported a man following her and she felt unsafe based on what she perceived him to be doing. The victim was relaxing and meditating at the College Hill Park and she opened her eyes to see the suspect, Darin James Noble, age 50, of Eugene, standing in front of her with his pants pulled down really low. She told him to leave her alone after he asked if she needed help. He didn’t leave and he was almost standing over her. She was able to leave and Noble walked in her direction, passed her and then hid in some bushes nearby. The area was less populated and the victim called police. Noble continued to follow her, circling back and forth in front of her. He referred to her as his ex-wife. The victim flagged down a passing motorist and Noble left her alone. An officer located him and charged him with Disorderly Conduct.
July 28, 1:34 p.m., 849 W. 6th AvenueTheft 3 – Case 16-12489Police responded to Brun’s Apple Market following information of a Theft. Police received information that the suspect, Kristofer Shayne Kilpatrick, age 20, of Eugene, was observed exiting the store without attempting to pay for a food item. An employee contacted Kilpatrick outside the store, and he ran from the location, but the employee eventually caught up to Kilpatrick and brought him back to the store where he was contacted by police and cited in lieu of custody for Theft in the Third Degree.
July 28 at 6:30 a.m., 149 E. 8th/E. ParkPossession Meth, Criminal Trespass 2, Failure to Register as Sex Offender, Warrant – Case 1612469Officers responded to report of an assault near 7-Eleven on W. 7th. The 45-year-old male victim had been punched by a man he said he didn’t know and he had some injuries. He reported that the man, later identified as Austin Henry Johnson, age 36, of Junction City, asked him for cigarettes and a light. He didn’t have one. Johnson began yelling at him and then punched him in the face. The victim reported he fell to the sidewalk and then Johnson punched him repeatedly. He did not require medical attention. An officer contacted Johnson, who was verbally hostile. Johnson had a warrant out of Eugene Municipal Court for Failure to Appear on a Theft 3 charge, had failed to register as a Sex Offender, was in possession of meth, and had violated a Park Restriction. He was charged with Assault 4, Possession of Methamphetamine, Criminal Trespass 2, Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and the warrant.
July 28 at 4:51 a.m., Skinner’s Butte ParkWarrant – Case 1612468An officer on routine patrol at 2nd and Lincoln spotted three people camping in a tent on the border of Skinner’s Butte. He contacted the trio about not being in the park after hours. One of them, Raven Miguel Vazquez Smith, age 22, had a warrant for Failure to Appear – Delivery of Methamphetamine and Failure to Appear – Possession of Heroin. He was taken into custody on the warrants.
July 28, at 2:37 a.m., Beltline and Hwy 99 NDUI/Reckless Rollover Crash - Case 1612465Officers were called to a rollover crash at Beltline and Hwy. 99N. A driver, later identified as Jeffery Douglas Bonney, age 28, of Springfield, was reported to have been travelling at a high rate of speed and failed to complete an attempt to exit Beltline. The vehicle rolled multiple times end over end. Bonney was conscious and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. He was charged with DUI and Reckless Driving, and cited for Driving While Suspended and Driving Uninsured.
July 28 at 12:37 a.m., East Park BlockPossession of Meth, Warrant – Case 1612459An officer on patrol in the East Park Block stopped a man, later identified as Theron William Lummus, age 35, for a park rule violation. During the contact, he found Lummus to have a warrant and Lummus was also found to be in possession of methamphetamines. He was taken into custody for the warrant and also charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
July 28 at 12:01 a.m., E. 4th Avenue and High StreetCarry Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of Restricted Weapon, Possession of Meth, Warrants – Case 1612480An officer stopped a vehicle as he knew the driver, Nicholas Deane Spencer, age 33, of Eugene, was suspended. Spencer had a passenger, Alexander Shane Koehler, age 26, of Yoncalla with him. As Spencer was suspended and Koehler didn’t have a license, the vehicle was going to be impounded. The officer asked both Spencer and Koehler to exit the vehicle. Spencer was resistive once outside the vehicle and officers had to struggle with him. An inventory was done of the vehicle subsequent to department policy. Officers located methamphetamine. Koehler had provided a false name and officers learned he had a warrant out of Douglas County. He was also in possession of a restricted type of knife. Spencer was charged with Driving While Suspended and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Koehler was taken into custody on a Douglas County Warrant (Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine – Parole Violation), and also charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
July 27 at 11:22 p.m., 600 Block of W. 7th AvenuePossession of Methamphetamine, Warrants – Case 1612457Officers were conducting a patrol check at the location and observed three individuals trespassing. One of those contacted, Taralin Rachelle Reynolds, age 26, was in possession of meth and had four warrants (three for Criminal Mischief 2, and one for Violation of Park Rules). She was taken into custody on the warrants and also charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
Officers dedicated a significant amount of time to Alton Baker, Scobert, and Skinner Butte Park. These efforts resulted in several warrant and drug related arrests. Officers also made several arrests in the Park Blocks and Broadway Plaza.
July 28, 2:37 p.m., 500 block of BeltlineDUII/Reckless Driving – Case 16-12465Police responded to a rollover crash at Beltline and Highway 99, and located a dark green Ford Escort, approximately 100 feet off the roadway with heavy damage. The driver, Jeffery Douglas Bonney, age 28, of Springfield, was transported to the hospital by medics with minor injuries. Police received information that Bonney was traveling at a high rate of speed before the vehicle was observed leaving the roadway and flipping into the grass. After further investigation, Bonney was cited in lieu of custody for DUII and Reckless Driving. He was also cited for Driving While Suspended and Driving Uninsured.

Broadway/Willamette StreetUse of Marijuana in Public Place – Case 16-12455A police officer was in the area and contacted Michael Charles McMahon, age 29, of Palm Springs, and cited him lieu of custody for Public Use of Marijuana, after he observed the incident on the northwest corner of Broadway and Willamette.
July 27, 9:27 p.m., 225 Cheshire AvenueResisting Arrest/False Information to Officer – Case 16-12450A police officer on patrol in Skinner’s Butte Park, contacted Gregory John Wright, age 39, of Eugene, regarding camping. During contact with Wright, police received false information regarding his identity and attempted to arrest Wright, and he resisted. He was eventually arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Providing False Information to an Officer, Interfering With a Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest and a warrant.
July 27, 8:42 p.m., 800 block of W. Park StreetPossession of Meth/Possession of Heroin – Case 16-12449A police officer in the W. Park Block area contacted Jesse Alfonzo Alexander, age 25, of Eugene, regarding a warrant for arrest, and found him in possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail on a warrant, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Heroin.
July 27, 5:12 p.m., 100 block of W. BroadwayDisorderly Conduct/Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 16-12444A police officer observed a male subject, Phillip Francis McLaughlin, age 43, of Eugene, lying on the ground in a prohibited trespass area outside of the Subway restaurant. Police observed McLaughlin threaten, and cause alarm to people in the area, and contacted him regarding his behavior. McLaughlin was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree and Disorderly Conduct.
July 27 at 2:41, 149 E. 13th Avenue/Pearl AlyDisorderly Conduct, Prohibited Noise – Case 1612396An officer was called to 13th Avenue and High Alley regarding a disorderly and intoxicated subject yelling and threatening several men with a “one way “street sign still attached to a post, that had been ripped out of its foundation. When the officer arrived, the suspect, Tres Michael Sweet, age 26, of Eugene, was in his apartment. After the officer left, a short time later, a second call came in there was screaming and yelling coming from Sweet’s apartment. Officers arrived and after Sweet stepped into the hallway, they tried to detain him and he attempted to flee back inside. The officers were able to detain him. While taking him to the patrol vehicle, he tried to head-butt the glass out of the entry door. Once outside on the front steps, he lunged and pulled away, lost his balance and fell on the sidewalk. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Prohibited Noise.
July 27, 12:30 a.m., 800 block of W. 10thPossession of Methamphetamine – Case 16-12398Police responded to the area and observed a male subject laying on his back, and soaked from the sprinklers that were running. The police officer contacted the subject, Charles Stephen Kyvelos, age 30, of Eugene, regarding his well-being, and he did not initially respond to the officer, but eventually communicated, and it was found that he was in possession of meth. Medics responded and evaluated Kyvelos, and he was cited in lieu of custody for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.
July 27 at 12:12 a.m., 99 W. 7th Avenue/Olive StreetDUI – Case 1612390An officer on patrol was going eastbound on W.7th Avenue and saw a Honda Fit turn west onto W. 7th Avenue from Olive. It was going the wrong way and he stopped it. Upon contacting the driver, Firelin Patterson Jones, age 43, of Eugene, he suspected impairment. After an investigation Jones was charged with Failure to Obey One Way Street and DUI.
July 26 at 12:11 a.m., 555 Day Island RoadViolation of Park Rules – Case 1612328Police received complaints about a large party of trespassers in the parking lot of Alton Baker parking lot following a concert at the Cuthbert Amphitheater. When the officer arrived, there were 15-25 people with vehicles, a large stereo system and some dogs. The officer warned the group and provided them a half hours to pack up or be cited. When he returned, there were people still there sleeping in their vehicles at 1:15 a.m., after the park closing hours. Cited were Alexander Matthew Heiser, age 21, of Tualatin, Craig Davis Vancura, age 45, of Lebanon, and Zachariah Eugene Hatcher, age 33, of North Plains, Oregon.
July 26, 5 p.m., 4275 Barger DriveTheft 3 – Case 16-12352Police responded to the Winco grocery store after receiving information of a Theft involving two subjects, who left the store without paying for multiple items that they had attempted to conceal on their person. Police contacted the suspects, Joshua Colby Simmons, age 21, of Eugene, and Jessica Ann Ripley, age 19, of Eugene, and they were cited in lieu of custody for Theft in the Third Degree.
July 26, 3:30 p.m., 311 Coburg RoadResisting Arrest/Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 16-12358Police responded to Albertson grocery store regarding information of a Disorderly Trespasser, who was yelling and interfering with business. When officers arrived, they contacted the suspect, Andrew William Berry, age 33, of Eugene, who walked away from the officers after being asked to leave. Berry continued to disregard direction from the officers and resisted the officers attempts to detain him. He was eventually transported to the hospital and Cited in Lieu of Custody for Resisting Arrest, Interfering With a Police Officer and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree.
July 26, 1:48 p.m., 4275 Barger DriveTheft 3/Warrant – Case 16-12351Police responded to the Winco grocery store after receiving information that a male subject was contacted by an employee after he was observed leaving the store without attempting to pay for items he had placed in a cart. Police contacted the suspect at the store and found that he had two warrants for arrest. He was transported to the Lane County Jail on the warrants and cited in lieu of custody for Theft in the Third Degree.
July 26, 1:03 p.m., 849 W. 6th AvenueTheft 3 – Case 16-12349Police responded to the Brun’s Apple Market regarding a Theft, and received information that the suspect, Dale Vernon Mastrude, age 57, of Eugene, attempted to conceal a beverage on his person and exit the store without paying. Mastrude was contacted by police at the store and cited in lieu of custody for Theft in the Third Degree.
July 25, 5:54 a.m., Delta northbound/Beltline westboundFelon in Possession of Restricted Weapon – Case 16-12259Police responded to the bike path following information of a dispute, and contacted the two involved male subjects, and found that one of the involved subjects, Michael Stewart Bethel, age 37, of Eugene, had three warrants for arrest. Police arrested Bethel on the warrants, and Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon (knife), and Possession of Methamphetamine, which were located on Bethel at the time of arrest.
July 25, 12:26 p.m., W. 7th Ave/ Washington StreetInterfering With A Peace Officer – Case 16-12284A police officer near Starbucks contacted a male subject after observing the subject in a verbal dispute with a female. During contact with the involved subject, Earl Laman Bowers Jr., age 41, of Eugene, police received false identifying information from Bowers. He was eventually arrested for Interfering With A Peace Officer, and it was found that he had a warrant for arrest. Additionally, he received a charge of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.
July 25, 6:12 p.m., 1045 Green Acres RoadHarassment/Theft 2/Warrant – Case 16-12313Police responded to the Home Depot and received information that a male Theft suspect attempted to leave the location without paying for equipment that he had taken. When employees contacted the suspect, Brandon James Mundell, age 22, of Eugene, outside the store, he attempted to leave. The employee grabbed Mundell, and both subjects fell to the ground. Employees were eventually able to detain Mundell until police arrived and contacted him regarding the incident. Police received information that one of the employees received a minor injury to the face during the struggle, and it was found that Mundell had a warrant for arrest. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail on the warrant, and received citations for Theft in the Second Degree and Harassment.
July 24, 4:57 p.m., Beltline westbound off-ramp/River RoadReckless Burning – Case 16-12243Police responded to the off-ramp after receiving information of a fire that started in the area where a male subject was standing before quickly leaving the area after the fire started. Police located the described suspect, Joshua Michael Beals, age 42, of Hermiston, in the parking lot of 60 Division Avenue, and contacted him regarding the information. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Reckless Burning, and cited for Open Container.
July 23, 3:47 p.m., 1400 block of Jefferson StreetAnimal Neglect 2 – Case 16-12198An animal welfare officer and police officer responded to a vehicle parked in front of a residence at the location after receiving information that a dog was in the vehicle during warm conditions. The officers observed the dog, and then located a smaller second dog, which was partially visible under the driver’s seat and had not responded to the barking from the other dog, or the officer. The dog eventually came out from under the seat and was observed wearing a thick winter jacket. Officers attempted to contact the registered owner of the vehicle, and after not being able to reach her, they entered the vehicle and removed the dogs. July 23, 1:58 a.m., W. 12th Ave/ Arthur St. DUII – Case 16-12161A police officer in the area observed a white 1987 Acura Integra traveling eastbound on W. 11th Avenue at a high rate of speed, and fail to activate its turn signal with 100 feet before making a right turn onto Arthur Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, Daniel Dwayne Knight McQueen, age 24, of Eugene, and after further investigation, arrested him for DUII and transported him to the Lane County Jail. He was cited for Unsignaled Turn.
July 23, 12:09 a.m., W. 10th Ave/Lawrence St.DUII/Reckless Driving – Case 16-12156A police officer in the area observed a blue Chevrolet SUV traveling at a high rate of speed nearly strike a parked vehicle and swerved to avoid striking a second parked vehicle. The officer conducted a traffic stop, and contacted the driver, Ashley Sheyenne Holman, age 21, of Eugene. After further investigation, she was arrested for DUII and Reckless Driving, and transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 23, 12:34 a.m., 1100 block of Willamette St. Criminal Mischief 2 – Case 16-12159Police responded to the location after receiving information of a male subject who threw a rock through the glass door of the apartment. Police located the suspect, Donald Arthur Rich, age 40, who is a resident at the location, and contacted him regarding the incident. He was arrested for Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, and transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 22, 5:23 p.m., 100 block of W. BroadwayRobbery 3 – Case 16-12090Police responded to the area after receiving information that a male subject hit a 19-year-old male victim in the face and tackled him to the ground, and subsequently took an item that belonged to the victim. Police located a person who matched the description of the suspect, Jonathon Robert Wong, age 26, of Eugene, and contacted him in the area of Oak and E. Broadway. He was arrested for Robbery in the Third Degree and transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 22, 5:20 p.m., 808 Seneca RoadTheft 1 – Case 16-12134Police responded to the Home Depot department store, following information of a Theft suspect who had removed a large item from a box and replaced the item in the box with several tools before repackaging the box, and attempting to leave the store with the items in the box. Police contacted the suspect, John Lee Gordineer, age 55, of Cottage Grove, and arrested him for Theft in the First Degree and transported him to the Lane County Jail. Gordineer was also charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Warrants, which were found at the time of the arrest.
July 21 at 3:43 a.m., Oakway Road/Cal Young Road Criminal Mischief 2/DUII/Reckless Driving – Case 16-12024 An officer was flagged down by an individual who alerted him to a traffic crash on Oakway Road at Cal young. The officer saw a red Subaru Outback suspended in the air by a utility pole guy-wire. All four tires were off the ground. The officer contacted the driver, Wolf Daniel Dange, age 22, of Tigard, who appeared intoxicated. After an investigation, he was arrested for Criminal Mischief 2, DUI, and Reckless Driving.
July 21 at 3:48 p.m., 1600 block of River RoadWarrant Arrest – Case 1612058An anonymous caller advised that a vehicle was parked in front of a garage complex and that it had been there the day before as well. A male associated with the vehicle was seen trying the door to one of the residences. The arriving officer arrived to check this out and contacted two males sitting in the involved car. One of them, Tyler Ross Stehle, age 25, of Dallas, Oregon, had a warrant for DUII Failure to Appear through Springfield Court. He was arrested on the warrant and taken to jail.
July 21 at 12:35 p.m., 780 Hwy. 99NInterfering with Police, Criminal Trespass 1 – Case 1612046An officer was dispatched to a fight on the side of Hwy. 99. By the time the officer got there, the two involved males were separated. The officer spotted a man that matched the description of one of the males involved in the fight. He went to contact him and the man fled on his bike onto the railroad tracks. Other officers were called to assist. The officer advised the fleeing male to stop and that he was under arrest. He didn’t stop, but officers located him hiding in blackberry bushes and he was taken into custody. He was charged with Criminal Trespass 1 and Interfering with a Police Officer.
July 20 at 6:56 a.m., W. 3rd AvenueBurglary 1 (Residence), Felon in Possession of a FirearmA 58-year-old Eugene woman woke up to find a man standing in her dining room, then he moved toward her bedroom door. She locked herself in and called police. The 911 calltaker could hear the man yelling in the background. One officer arrived quickly and spotted the suspect, later identified as Michael Andre Page, age 46, sitting on a couch just inside the front door. The officer drew his weapon and entered, and Page challenged him about having his firearm out and referred to a envelope that had papers (not visible), and he reported he lived in the house. He refused to get on the ground. Other officers arrived. There was a backpack in between Page’s legs. Inside was a handgun. A check showed Page to be a convicted felon not allowed to possess a gun. He was arrested for Burglary 1 and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
July 20 at 2:23 a.m., 2500 block of WillakenzieCriminal Trespass 1 – Case 16-11964Police responded to an apartment at the location following information that an unknown trespasser was injured by the homeowner. When officers arrived, they observed the suspect standing at the front door to the location bleeding from an injury to the head. Police contacted the suspect Michael Edward St. John, age 23, of Eugene, and received information that after entering the home, he was told multiple times to leave, and was subsequently struck by the victim with a blunt object. St. John was transported to the hospital by medics and cited for Criminal Trespass in the First Degree.
July 21 at 12:27 a.m. at 330 W. 7th AvenuePossession of Meth, Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 1612016Two women, one of the identified later as Rashel Ann Sears, age 45, of Eugene, were sitting on the side of Jackson’s Market, where there were ‘no trespassing’ signs. Both women were contacted and Sears appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. She was arrested for Criminal Trespass 2 and found in possession of methamphetamine, for which she was also charged.
July 20 at 9:08 p.m., 240 WashingtonPossession of Meth, Warrant – Case 1612005While at Washington Jefferson Skate Park following up on another incident, an officer observed Sascha Marie McIntyre, age 19, of Eugene, and he knew she had a warrant for Failure to Appear (Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine). He contacted her and found her to also be in possession of meth. She was arrested on the warrant and a new charge of Possession of Controlled Substance Methamphetamine.
July 20 at 8:46 p.m., 240 WashingtonPossession of Methamphetamine – Case 1612003An officer on routine patrol of the Washington Jefferson Skate Park observed three people sitting on the stage, south of the basketball court. One person, later identified as Tyler Lee Endicott, age 22, had a lighter with an apparent flame. Smoking is prohibited in the park, so the officer contacted him and found Endicott was in possession of meth. He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine.
July 20 at 4:37 p.m., 1080 Willamette StreetCriminal Trespass 2 – Case 1611995LTD reported a trespasser becoming aggressive with LTD staff. Officers arrived and found LTD staff standing around Robert Cheech Bigger, age 25, of Eugene. He had been asked to leave several times, and had personal property scattered around him. Bigger refused to leave. Officers took him into custody for Criminal Trespass 2.
July 20 at 2:48 p.m. at 99 W. Broadway/OliveAssault 2 – Case 1611989Two men entered into a verbal dispute in the middle of the intersection of W. Broadway and Olive Street. It was reported that Amos Joe Nance, age 34, used racial slurs toward the 31-year-old man he was fighting with, who was Black. A third man, age 61 and who was in a wheelchair, attempted to get in between the two to break the argument up and was pushed away by the victim. Nance, who had a guitar, is then reported to have struck the victim in the head with the guitar. Nance was arrested for Assault 2. The victim refused medical treatment.
July 20 at 12:11 a.m., 800 block of HilyardDUII, Careless Driving – Case 1611959An officer on patrol saw a vehicle drive over the cement divider going eastbound in the 800 block of Hilyard, then go through a red light and stop in the intersection, impeding the oncoming traffic. An officer contacted the driver and after an investigation charged Mary Alise Lindeman, age 31, of Eugene, with DUI and Careless Driving.
July 19 at 12:38 a.m., W. 5th Ave/ Blair Blvd. Warrant – Case 16-11889 A police officer observed a male bicyclist riding south at a high rate of speed on Blair Boulevard in the northbound lane without a bike light after dark. The officer conducted a traffic stop, and contacted the bicyclist, Jim Randolph Breland, age 34, of Eugene, and found that he had four warrants. He was arrested on the warrants and transported to the Lane County Jail, and cited for Failure to Drive on the Right Side of the Road and Improper Bicycle Equipment.
July 18 at 2:16 a.m., 2030 River RoadBurglary 2 – Case 16-11823EPD officers responded to information of a traffic stop by the Springfield Police Department on July 19 in Springfield, following information of a stolen gun that was located during the stop. The previous morning, officers responded to Bimart on River Road and observed a damaged front door, and merchandise missing from the location, including the gun. Following contacted with the suspects, who were in the vehicle at the time of the stop, police arrested both James David Michael, age 29 of Roseburg, and Colin Victor Sheridan, age 26, of Roseburg, for Burglary in the Second Degree and Theft in the First Degree. Both suspects were transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 20 at 12:25 a.m., 605 W. 4th AvenueAssault 2 – Case 1611960 and 1611961An officer was patrolled on Jefferson Street, near 5th Avenue, and spotted subjects in the distance who were fighting. The officer contacted them and found the 55-year-old victim was found to have been stabbed by Adam Samuel Charles, age 45, after a dispute that turned physical. Charles, who is Native American used racial slurs toward the victim, who is White. Charles was arrested for Assault 2 and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The victim was cited for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (Case 1611961).
July 20 at 12:14 a.m., 3595 W. 11th AvenueCriminal Trespass 2, Case 1611958Lowe’s home improvement store called police regarding three men who were sleeping next to the building and creating garbage. The men, were contacted by an officer, who had originally contacted them about the same issue at the location on July 12, warning them at the time that they were trespassing. Contacted and cited for Criminal Trespass 2 were Eric Johnson, age 51, Jonathan Bradford Demoss, age 32, and Mark Edwin Verplank, 49.
July 19 at 8:16 p.m., 1100 Block of MillCriminal Trespass 2, Warrant – Case 1611951An officer was patrolling at E. 12th and Mill and noticed several people hanging out in a grass trip in front of a residence. This group of people has been doing this at residences in the area and the behavior has caused quality of life issues for the people living in the neighborhood. The officer stopped his car in the hopes the presence of a police vehicle would cause the people to leave the residence’s property. After a time, it did not, so he went to make contact. A man, later identified as David Robert Brown, age 48, got up and started to leave. When the officer told him to stop, he used racial slurs and cursed at the officer as he continue walking. Brown had three warrants out of Eugene Municipal Court. Brown used sexually derogatory slurs toward an assisting female officer, although he was physically compliant. He was charged with Criminal Trespass 2 and the warrants.
July 19 at 7:37 p.m., 575 Hwy. 99NDisorderly Subject Call (warrant arrest) – Case 1611948Riva’s Taco shop had a disorderly subject and police were called. Jesse Lee Wilkerson, age 32, was behind the Value Inn Motel pushing on a fence, and appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. He had a warrant for failure to comply (methamphetamine). He was arrested without incident on the warrant.
July 19 at 6:44 p.m., 49 E. 8th AvenueUse of Marijuana in a Public Place/Failure to Register Sex Offender – Case 1611943An officer observed a man, later identified as Jeremy Edward Lowery, age 28, smoking marijuana in the west Park Blocks with a group, including a 16-year-old girl, 18-year-old Devin J. Thompson, and another 28-year-old man, Jeffrey Don Walton. Lowery handed the marijuana to Walton, who smoked it and then handed the pipe to the 16-year-old, who smoked it. Walton is registered as a sex offender out of California, who failed to register. He was arrested on the probable cause charges of failure to register as a sex offender and Delivery of Marijuana to a Minor. The 16-year-old was cited for Minor in Possession and Use of Marijuana in Public. Thompson and Lowery were cited for Use of Marijuana in Public.
July 19 at 9:06 a.m., 7th Avenue/Pearl StreetDisorderly Conduct/ Reckless Driving – Case 16-11900Police responded to the area following information of a black Nissan that had been had been tailgating another driver, and then honked repeatedly at the vehicle after a came to a stop at a traffic light. When the light turned green, the Nissan accelerated and crossed three lanes of traffic, and cut in front of an Chevy Tahoe that happened to be an unmarked unit from another law enforcement agency. The Tahoe and other vehicles behind it stopped immediately to avoid crashing. The Tahoe then pulled alongside of the Nissan, and the driver of the Nissan exited his vehicle and approached the Tahoe with a raised fist. The driver of the Tahoe announced from his vehicle for the subject to stop and that he was police, and the subject immediately returned to his vehicle and proceeded to turn onto Pearl Street. The officer in the Tahoe conducted a traffic stop and EPD responded to the area and contacted the driver, Charles Jacob Carmody, age 44, of Eugene, and cited him in lieu of custody for Reckless Driving and Disorderly Conduct.
July 18, 8:55 p.m., 500 block of N. DaneboRobbery 3 – Case 16-11878Police responded to the location following information that a male suspect on bike stole the cell phone of a female victim. Police located a person matching the description of the suspect in the area of Beltline and Roosevelt Boulevard, and contacted Leroy Russell Gatesprociw Jr., age 26, of Springfield, regarding the incident. Police received information that Gatesprociw grabbed the cell phone from the victim, and subsequently threatened the victim before leaving on his bike. He was arrested for Robbery in the Third Degree and transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 17, 10:30 p.m., 1500 block of Flintridge AvenueProhibited Noise – Case 16-11814Police responded to the location following information of loud voices and music coming from the backyard of the residence. When police arrived they observed the loud noise and contacted the resident, Rhiannon Bustamante, age 40, and cited her in lieu of custody for Prohibited Noise.
July 17, 8:06 p.m., 300 block of E. 12th AvenueDisorderly Conduct/Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 16-11809Police responded to the location following information that two women were involved in a physical dispute. They contacted the involved subjects. Police received information that Stacy Michelle Blunt, age 45, of Eugene, had been asked to leave the location and was later observed on the property aggressing another female by jumping on her back. Blunt was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree and transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 17, 6:35 p.m., 3333 W. 11th AvenueTheft 3 – Case 16-11806Police responded to Fred Meyer regarding a shoplifter in custody and received information that the suspect, David Michael Payne, age 56, left the store without attempting to pay for the items in his possession. Police contacted Payne, and cited him in lieu of custody for Theft in the Third Degree.
July 17, 3 p.m., 4275 Barger DriveTheft 2/Criminal Trespass 2 Case – 16-11795Police responded to the Winco grocery store regarding information of a shoplifter in custody who had been previously trespassed from the location. Police arrived and received information that the suspect, Kimberley Sue Jones, age 45, of Eugene, left the store without attempting to pay for items in her possession. She was contacted by police and arrested on warrants and cited for Theft in the Second Degree and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. She was transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 17 at 7:08 a.m., 300 block of Hwy. 99 NUnauthorized Use of Vehicle, Possession of Burglary Tools – Case 1611778A man was observed attempting to break into vehicles in the area and an officer was dispatched to check this out. Officers arrived and found a man in the area who matched the suspect’s description. When officers went to contact him, the man, Kirby Boone Hamilton, age 30, was compliant. He was found in possession of tools commonly used for unlawfully entering vehicles. He was charged with Attempted Unauthorized Use of Vehicles and Possession of Burglary Tools.
July 16 at 10:09 p.m., 1700 block of W. 7th AvenuePossession of Stolen Vehicle – Case 1611770An officer spotted a truck driving the wrong way on W. 7th Avenue, and the truck was maneuvering to avoid a collision with the traffic. The truck pulled into a parking lot at 1975 W. 7th Avenue and the officer stopped it. The driver, John Gilbert Lovato, age 38, began to exit and was ordered to stay in the car. He complied. The truck ended up being a stolen vehicle, with stolen plates. Lovato was arrested for Unauthorized Use of Vehicle and Theft 3 (Vehicle Parts/Accessories).
July 16 at 6:18 p.m., 205 E. 18th AvenueDisorderly Conduct, Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 1611765There was a disorderly trespasser at Starbucks, who was refusing to leave the location, then became agitated and yelled at customers. Officers found the suspect, Patricio Mendez Del Alto, age 34, still inside and asked him to come out. He was trespassed and started walking away, but then he turned around and came back agitated and yelling. He was arrested for Criminal Trespass 2 and Disorderly Conduct.
July 16 at 12:33 p.m., 669 W. 7th AvenuePossession of Stolen Vehicle, Hit and Run, Heroin Possession – Case 1611743Police were called after a stolen vehicle crashed on W. 6th Alley between Madison Street and Jefferson Street. It appeared that a male and female were arguing in the vehicle near the Taco Bell Drive-up when the female drove the car straight into a power pole. The man got out, and the woman backed into him with the car, bumping him to the ground. He got up, she got out the car, and they both walked away together. Michelle Avalon Bartow, 45, was charged with Possession of Heroin, and Possession of Stolen Vehicle. Hit and Run Property Damage. Kelly Ray Wamsley, age 46, was charged with Possession of Stolen Vehicle. Arrested July 16 at 5:12 p.m.
July 16 at 6:55 a.m., Country Lane/Sorrel WayID Theft, Possession Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, Warrants – Case 1611736There was a report made to police of illegal camping. The officer arrived at the park and located Mathew Jacob Decker, age 28, of Eugene, and Lindsey Michelle Weston, age 26, of Springfield. They both had warrants. During a search of Decker, officers found evidence of ID Theft, and also methamphetamine and heroin. Weston was arrested on her warrant and Decker was arrested for ID Theft, Possession Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, and his warrant.
July 16 at 4:13 a.m., 1000 Block of W. 1st AvenueCriminal Trespass 1 – Case 1611723A 43-year-old male homeowner and his girlfriend awoke to hear someone inside their home. The homeowner went to look around and encountered a man he did not know, later identified as Robert Charles Gay, age 57, of Eugene, coming out of the bathroom. He yelled at Gay and physically escorted him out the front door and called 911. Gay left and the homeowner called police. Officers were able to find Gay a few blocks away. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with Criminal Trespass 1.
July 16 at 2:01 a.m., E. 24th/Amazon ParkwayDUI (Alcohol, Cannabis), Failure to Drive in a Single Lane – Case 1611717An officer stopped a truck after he saw it stop facing east/west on northbound Amazon Parkway, then make a U-turn and drive north in the southbound lanes of travel. Upon contact with the driver, later identified as Crystal Dawn Harper, age 37, of Cottage Grove, he suspected impairment and conducted a DUI investigation. She was cited in lieu of custody for DUI (alcohol, cannabis) and cited for Failure to Drive in a Single Lane.
July 16 at 1:20 a.m., 4550 W. 11th AvenueRobbery 3 and False Info to Police – Case 1611710On July 15 around 10:40 p.m., an officer was dispatched to WalMart after a report of a man who fled with merchandise after pushing an employee. Police arrived in the area and found the suspect, later identified as Marcus James Crowe, age 31. During the contact, he provided a false name, but officers were able to identify him and found he had two warrants (Failure to Appear for Theft 3 and a Parole Violation for Unauthorized Use of Vehicle). He was taken to Jail on Robbery in the Third Degree, Theft in the Third Degree, False Info to Police, and the warrants.
July 15 at 11:59 p.m., Elizabeth and KnoopPossession of Methamphetamines – Case 1611737Officers were called to the neighborhood after a man, later identified as Lyle Leroy Beaty, age 51, coming from a neighbor’s house while the resident was not at home. One caller provided updated locations of Beaty. He was reported to be followed by a group of juveniles and jumping fences on Elizabeth Street and Bethesda Street. Police arrived in the area and located Beaty. During an investigation, officers found he was in possession of meth and a garden tool. He was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamines.
July 15 at 11:08 p.m., arrest July 17 a.m.. 5:36 a.m., 820 Oak StreetPossession of Methamphetamine, Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 1611712Officers were checking the Park Blocks after they were closed for the night and contacted a man and woman who were in the park. An officer warned the male about trespassing and the man left. A man, later identified as Dennis Spencer Harrington, age 43, had walked up to where the woman, Amber Jensen, age 25, was speaking with a second officer. Harrington was found to be in possession of meth. Jensen was found to be in possession of meth and heroin. Harrington was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Criminal Trespass 2), age 43. Jensen was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Heroin.
July 15 at 9:22 p.m., 1166 Oak StreetPossession of Heroin, Warrant – Case 1611706A bike officer on routine patrol observed an unattended bicycle leaning up against some stairs on the side of the church and went to check the situation out. He spotted a male and female sitting nearby. The woman appeared to be ready to inject herself with a syringe. After investigating, the woman, Anastasia Loren Yell, 24, of Eugene, was found to have warrants. Yell was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Heroin and the two warrants.
July 15 at 8:20 p.m., 500 block of E. 11th AvenueAssault 2 – Case 1611708An officer was dispatched to a reported trespasser, where the trespassing suspect, a 40-year-old man in a wheelchair, was also reported to be the victim in an assault. Medics arrived and took the man to the hospital. It was reported that he and another man, Steven Gurney, age 24, of Eugene had a dispute after the 40-year-old victim trespassed on his property and others’ property and then yelled and swore when asked repeatedly to leave. Gurney is reported to have punched the victim. Officers located Gurney on July 16 at 9:01 p.m. and arrested him on charges of Assault 2.
July 15, 8:07 p.m., 100 block of N. Grand StreetAssault – Case 16-11703Police responded to a residence regarding a dispute between neighbors, and observed an injury to face of the female victim. Police contacted the involved subjects and received information that the female and male were in a verbal dispute that escalated when the male subject hit the 57-year-old female in the face. Following contact with the suspect, Raymond William Colby III, age 50, at his residence, police arrested him for Assault and transported him to the Lane County Jail.
July 15, 5:52 p.m., 100 Valley River CenterBurglary 2/Theft 2/Theft 1 Case – 16-11694Police responded to Macy’s at Valley River Center regarding a shoplifter in custody. Police received information that the suspect, John Eugene Littrell Jr., age 45 of Eugene, took several items from a construction area at another location in the mall, not open to the public, and attempted to conceal several items from Macy’s and left the store without attempting to pay for the items. Police contacted Littrell regarding the incident, and arrested him for Burglary in the Second Degree, Theft in the Second Degree, Theft in the First Degree and a warrant. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 15, 1:39 p.m., 1080 Willamette StreetInterfering With Public Transport/Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 16-11673Police responded to Lane Transit District for information regarding a male subject who was trespassing. Police received information that Todd Michael Seidenglanz, age 39, was contacted by an employee and became verbally hostile. Police contacted Seidenglanz and arrested him for Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree and Interfering with Public Transport. He was transported to the Lane County Jail on the charges.
July 15, 5:19 a.m., 1800 block of Franklin Blvd.Interfering With A Police Officer – 16-11653Police received information of a disorderly subject who was yelling in the lobby at Starbucks, and received information that the man had been previously trespassed from the location. Police contacted the suspect, Brett Stone Tschetter, age 23, of Eugene, in the parking lot at the location. During contact with the officer, Tschetter refused to follow direction, ran and subsequently became aggressive toward the officer. He was eventually arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree, Interfering with a Police Officer and Escape From Custody.
July 15 at 4:40 a.m., 2300 block of Cal YoungCriminal Trespass 2, Driving While Suspended – Case 1611652A woman reported a man, later identified as David James Randall, age 50, of Eugene, was in her backyard, peering in windows. Police arrived and found Randall standing on the back porch. He was detained and after an investigation was charges with Criminal Trespass 2 and Driving While Suspended.
July 15 at 2:38 a.m., E. 6th Avenue and PearlDUI - Case 1611650Police were called after a car was observed driving the wrong way on W. 6th near Charnelton, then turning around in a parking lot, striking curbs. The car was located at the parking lot at the 5th Street Market. Officers contacted the driver, Warren Grumbley, 26, of Springfield, and suspected intoxication. After an investigation, he was charged with DUI.

Officers arrived and found the male, later identified as Brian Kuncewitch, age 30, unresponsive with heroin in his possession. Police called medics and he was evaluated and regained consciousness. He was charged with Possession of Heroin.
July 15, 2016 at 2:12 a.m. (arrest), 1300 block of W. 2nd AvenueArson 1 – Case 1611575On July 14, an officer was dispatched to 1501 W. 2nd Avenue, C&K petroleum Equipment regarding an arson that had occurred. The suspect in the case, Nathan P. Anderson, 34, of Eugene, was believed to have set a fire intentionally at the business. He had been allowed to sleep there, but on July 9 was trespassed after he was found smoking from a soda can. He left, but started a fire against the building on July 14. An officer located him on July 15 and found Anderson was in possession of methamphetamines. He was charged with Arson 1 and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine.
July 15 at 1:31 a.m., W. 4th Aly/Washington DUII, Reckless Driving, Failure to Register as a Sex Offender – Case 1611647An officer spotted a grey van pull up next to him on 8th Avenue. At the stop light, it turned onto Charnelton and crossed the center line. The officer stopped the van and contacted the driver, Paul Allen Muir, age 47, of Eugene. The officer suspected Muir to be intoxicated and conducted an investigation. He found that Muir is a sex offender and had failed to register. Muir was charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, Sex Offender Failure to Register. He was cited for Driving While Suspended and Driving Uninsured.
July 15 at 1:03 a.m., W. 13th/LawrenceDUII, Reckless Driving – Case 1611646An officer spotted a vehicle driving fast and going the wrong way down W. 8th Avenue. The driver didn’t immediately pull over when the officer initiated a stop. When the officer did contact the driver, he suspected the driver, Dylan Valentin Whitley, age 25, of Eugene, was impaired. After an investigation, Whitley was charged with DUII and Reckless Driving.
July 15 at 12:30 a.m., 588 W. 7th AvenuePossession of Meth, Warrants – Case 1611645Officers observed a woman, Tamara Lynn Hickling, 49, of Eugene, sitting on a retaining wall at 7-Eleven. They knew she had a warrant for her arrest. They contacted her and also found she was in possession of methamphetamine and heroin. She was arrested on the warrants and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance Heroin.
July 14 at 10:58 p.m., 600 block of W. 7th AvenuePossession of Heroin, Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 1611639While on routine patrol, an officer saw a man, later identified as Jeffrey Lewis Glassmyer, age 34, lying on property in the 600 block of W. 7th Avenue where it was posted “No Trespassing. When contacted, Glassmyer was found to be in possession of heroin and meth. Glassmyer was charged with Criminal Trespass 2, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Heroin.
July 14 at 10:18 p.m., 1300 VillardDUII (Controlled Substances), Reckless Driving – Case 1611636An officer working DUII-enforcement responded to Franklin and Villard to assist UOPD with a minor crash that had just occurred, where intoxication was suspected. The officer contacted the driver, Sandra Jean Cremeen, age 63, of Springfield. After an investigation, she was charged with DUII (Controlled Substances) and Reckless Driving.
July 14 at 10:18 p.m., W. Broadway/OlivePossession of Heroin, Interfering with a Peace Officer, Parole Violation for PCS Heroin - Case 1611635An officer on bike patrol spotted Gerri Dale Porter, age 41, who he knew to have a warrant. She started to hand her bag to a man and the officer told her to stop, but he had to tell her a number of times and Porter continued to hand off her bag to a 40-year-old man. Another officer had to pull his bike in front of where she was walking to get her to stop. She was detained on her warrant. During the contact, police found Porter to be in Possession of Heroin. She was charged on her warrant, for Possession of a Controlled Substance Heroin, and for Interfering with a Peace Officer.
July 14, 6 p.m., 101 W. 5th AvenueBurglary 2 – Case 16-11607Police responded to the Lane County Jail, and contacted Christopher Eugene Hooper, age 38 of Eugene, who was in custody on an unrelated charge. Police received information that Hooper had entered an RV without consent on July 7, on the 2300 block of W. 11th, and was observed inside the vehicle around 12:30 p.m., and took machinery from the vehicle. He was charged with Burglary in the Second Degree.

Police contacted the driver, Steven Peter Nichols, age 38, of Eugene, and arrested him for DUII and Reckless Driving. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

July 13 at 6:01 a.m. Saint Street/Waverly StreetDelivery of Heroin, Driving While Suspended, Warrant – Case 1611485An officer stopped a vehicle driven by Colin Michael Johnson, age 32, of Eugene. He had three passengers, who exited the car and began walking toward the officer’s police car. They stopped when the officer told them to stand on the sidewalk. The officer found that Crystal Rechelle Moyer, age 35, one of the passengers had two warrants out of Cottage Grove Municipal Court and Lane County Parole and Probation. Another passenger, Kristopher Michael Wagner, age 29, provided a false name initially, and was found to have two warrants. He was also found in possession of heroin and meth and items associated with delivery. Wagner was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Methamphetamine, Delivery of Heroin, Delivery of Methamphetamine, Possession/Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Schedule 4, and two warrants. The driver, Johnson, was cited in lieu of custody for Driving While Suspended – Misdemeanor and released at the scene with the third passenger, a female.
July 13, 9:01 p.m., 4550 W. 11th AvenueTheft 2 – Case 16-11548Police responded to Walmart regarding a Theft, after receiving information that an employee was observed leaving the store without attempting to pay for items that he had taken. Police contacted the suspect Zachary Scott Landin, age 22, of Lowell, and cited him in lieu of custody for Theft in the Second Degree.
July 13, at 9:10 p.m., 75 Division AvenueTheft 2 – Case 16-11550Police responded to the Goodwill store for information of a shoplifter and received information that the suspect Sarah Rebecca Andrews, age 26, of Lowell, left the location without attempting to pay for a clothing item she had taken. Police contacted Andrews and found that she had a warrant, and transported her to the Lane County Jail. She received a citation for Theft in the Second Degree.
July 13, 4:35 p.m., 4550 W. 11th AvenueTheft 2 – Case 16-11538Police responded to the Walmart regarding a Theft, after receiving information that an employee was observed leaving the store without attempting to pay for items that he had taken. Police contacted the suspect Adam Anisoncurtis Reeves, age 23, of Eugene, and arrested him for Theft in the Second Degree. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 13, 11:12 p.m., 1420 W. 1st StreetTheft 3 – Case 16-11538 Following a response from medics to provide treatment to a woman at the location, police received information that a male subject had taken the woman’s wallet. Police contacted the male suspect Brian David Zier, age 43, of Eugene, and found him in possession of the wallet. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Theft in the Third Degree.
June 12, 11:07 a.m., 67 W. 29th AvenueTheft 3 – Case 16-11450Police responded to the Market of Choice grocery store regarding a Theft, and received information that the suspect Adam Kink Haralamos, age 48, was contacted by an employee after concealing items on his person. Police contacted Haralamos at the store and arrested him and transported him to the Lane County Jail for Theft in the Third Degree.
July 11, 6:10 p.m., 845 W. 10th AvenueHarassment – Case 16-11429Police responded to Monroe Street Park regarding a physical dispute between two male subjects, and received information that the 56-year-old male victim, had been walking his dog when the suspect, Jeremy R Gutierrez, age 26, of Eugene, aggressed the victim verbally and kicked him multiple times. Police contacted Gutierrez and arrested him for Physical Harassment, Disorderly Conduct and a warrant. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 10, 5:30 p.m., 150 W. BroadwayDisorderly Subject – Case 16-11388Police responded to the area after receiving information of a disorderly subject who was yelling and making threats toward patrons who were in close proximity to him. Police attempted to contact a male subject who matching the description in the area of Broadway and Olive, and the suspect, Ira Ulyesses Bastian Jr., age 31, of Springfield, walked away from the officer. The officer again tried to contact Bastian, and he became confrontational with the officer, and was eventually arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Interfering with a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest. During the arrest, Bastian continued to be uncooperative with the officers and resisted, attempting to pull away from the officers. He was transported to the Lane County Jail on the charges.
July 9, 2:46 a.m., River Road/ Thomason LaneDUII – Case 16-11323An officer conducting traffic enforcement contacted the driver of a 2002 blue Lexus after observing it traveling at a high rate of speed. After further investigation, the driver, Edgar Arellano, age 27, of Eugene, was arrested for DUII and transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 9, 6:33 p.m., Territorial Highway/ Suttle RoadDUII – Case 16-11352An officer conducting traffic enforcement observed contacted the driver of a 1990 red Honda Accord after observing it traveling at a high rate of speed. After further investigation, the driver, Jesse Jesus Quinton, age 32, of Springfield, was arrested for DUII and transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 8, 7:44 p.m., Valley River/ Willagillespie RoadReckless Endangering/DUII/Reckless Driving – 16-11311Police responded to the area regarding a two vehicle crash and information of a Toyota Camry that had been speeding and driving recklessly before crashing into Jeep SUV. When police arrived, they observed the Toyota Camry and a Jeep SUV with significant damage, and contacted the involved drivers. After further investigation, police arrested Michael Garth Buchanon, age 24, of Eugene, for Reckless Endangering, DUII and Reckless Driving. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.
July 7, at 1:24 a.m., Coburg/Martin Luther King JrDUI (Cannabis), Reckless Driving, MIP Marijuana, Violation of Designated Speed, Case 1611217An officer working traffic enforcement at 7th and High spotted a speeding vehicle. It was about to pass him, but slowed down. He stopped the car and contacted the driver, Hayden Kaleb Kuhn Brashers, age 19, of Grants Pass, and a 19-year-old male passenger from Williams, Oregon. The officer suspected impairment and after an investigation Hayden was lodged at the Lane County Jail for DUI (Cannabis) and Reckless Driving. He was issued a citation for Minor in Possession Marijuana and Violation of Designated Speed.
July 6 at 7:13 p.m., 300 block of E. 12thAssault/Disorderly Conduct – Case 16-11194Police responded to the location after receiving information of a physical dispute between two male subjects. When officers arrived, they observed the 64-year-old male victim with injuries to his arm and head, and the suspect, Edward Paul Slagle, age 51, of Eugene, who returned to the location carrying a golf club. Police contacted Slagle, who swung the club toward the officers and was given direction to stop. He eventually dropped the club and was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Assault and Disorderly Conduct. Police received information that Slagle had punched the victim in the head several times while on the ground. The victim was transported to the hospital by medics for evaluation.
July 6 at 11:54 a.m., 3800 Amazon DriveUnauthorized Use of a Vehicle – Case-16-11157Police responded to the Fred Meyer parking lot on W. 11th regarding a stolen vehicle that was occupied, and previous information that it was taken from a residence on Amazon Drive. Police contacted the driver of the vehicle, Justin Leroy Grossman, age 30, of Eugene, and arrested him for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, and transported him to the Lane County Jail.
July 6 at 6:09 p.m., E. 2nd/FerryPossession of Meth, Case 1611186Police had arrested a man on a warrant and he had a bike that he requested police leave with his girlfriend. Police took the bike to her and found her in the bed of her pickup truck. They approached and spotted a man with her, Tyler Lee Endicott, age 22, who dropped a baggie on the ground. Police found it contained methamphetamine and he was arrested on possession of meth. They left the bike with the girlfriend and took Endicott to Jail.
July 6 at 2:26 p.m., 1910 W. 6th AvenueAssault 2, Case 1611163Police were dispatched to a stabbing at McDonald’s on W. 6th. They contacted an employee and the victim, a 24-year-old male. The suspect, a 60-year-old man, later identified as William Monroe Lewis, age 60, was sitting on the sidewalk bleeding as well. Lewis was intoxicated and had gotten into a dispute with the victim inside McDonald’s. Lewis exited and when the victim also left, Lewis approached him and reportedly stabbed him. The victim punched Lewis, causing Lewis to fall to the sidewalk. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and released. Lewis was taken to the hospital for treatment and evaluation. He has been charged with Assault 2.
July 5 at 8:17 p.m., 1859 Franklin Blvd. Prostitution-Promoting – Case 16-11102Police responded to the Days Inn hotel regarding an online ad for prostitution, and exchanged information with the involved female subject. When police arrived, they contacted the involved subjects and found information that the male subject, Morgan Taylor McKinley, age 25, of San Diego California, had assisted in arranging the meeting. After further investigation, he was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Prostitution-Promoting.
July 5 at 4:16 a.m., 80 E. 33rd Avenue (Fire Station 15)Criminal Mischief 2, Possession of Meth, Criminal Trespass 1, Case 1611047While firefighters from the fire station at E.33rd Avenue were working the fire on Franklin Boulevard during the early morning of July 5, a man later identified as Freddie Jess Saranana, age 36, of Eugene, entered the fire station by using a rock to break through the window, and once he was in, he climbed on top of a fire vehicle and lay down on the roof for a time. When he climbed down, he changed into some firefighter duty pants, belt and took possession of a fire hat. He was sitting down at a table waiting for the fire crew to return. They called police and Sarenana was compliant when taken into custody. He was found to be in possession of methamphetamines. He had been the subject of an earlier disorderly subject call. He was charged with Criminal Mischief 2, Possession of Meth, and Criminal Trespass 1.
July 4 at 1:46 a.m., 221 Division AvenueDUI, Interfering, Hit and Run, Reckless Driving, Elude by Foot, Case 1610989A driver, later identified as Jordan Lee Lindsay, age 34, of Eugene, crashed into a fire hydrant and then fled his vehicle on foot. An officer located him a few blocks away and ordered him to stop, but he started running from the officer through a yard. He was cornered and taken into custody. He was charged with DUI, Interfering, Hit and Run, Reckless Driving and Elude by Foot.
July 3, at 8:22 p.m., 99 W. Broadway/OliveWarrants, Case 1610980An officer responded to Broadway and Olive where a man, later identified as Jerry Ray Helmer, age 29, was reported to be threatening people with a hatchet. The officer located Helmer, who did not have a hatchet, but had removed it and placed it on the ground without menacing anyone. Helmer had a parole violation warrant for Burglary 1 and also for Theft 2 and was arrested on the warrants.
July 3 at 6:11 p.m., 2600 Arnold AvenueDUI, Driving While Suspended, Case 1610978There was a single-vehicle crash with reports of a possibly intoxicated driver, later identified as Larry Alex Whiteley, age 47, walking away from the vehicle. Officers arrived and found five people standing around Whiteley, who was sitting on a curb. They contacted him and found that his driving privileges were revoked. After an investigation, he was charged with DUI and Driving While Suspended.
July 3 at 5:26 p.m., BeltlineDUI, Assault 3, Hit and Run, Case 1610972An officer was dispatched to a crash on the westbound off-ramp of Beltline near Barger. The driver of the truck, later identified as Martin Arnold Janisse, age 59, of Eugene, had fled the scene on foot. It was reported that he had driven quickly down the off-ramp and struck another vehicle driven by another man who had a 35-year-old female passenger with him. The passenger was taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The male victim driver was injured but declined transport by medics and was taken for medical evaluation by a private party. Officers responded to Janisse’s residence and arrested him for two counts of Assault 3, DUII and Hit and Run.
July 3 at 2:09 a.m., W. 6th and LawrenceDUI, Defective Taillights, Case 1610933An officer spotted a vehicle without taillights and stopped it. When he contacted the driver, Noah John Ripley, age 24, of Springfield, the officer suspected impairment. After an investigation he was charged with DUII and cited for Defective Taillights.
July 3 at 1:01 a.m. at Jefferson and W. 12thDUI, Reckless Driving, Endangering, Case 1610931An officer observed a driver, later identified as Carissa Lynne Surace, age 27, of Eugene, unable to maintain her lane on the road and cut off another vehicle. After an investigation, she was charged with DUI and Reckless Driving.
July 3 at 12:16 a.m., W. 11th/OakpatchDUI, Case 1610925An officer stopped a driver, later identified as Philip Harting, age 31, of Eugene, for speeding. Once he contacted Harting, he suspected impairment and after an investigation he was charged with DUI and cited for Violation of Posted Speed and Failure to Register Vehicle.
July 2 at 10:41 p.m., 687 Cheshire AvenuePublic Indecency, Resisting Arrest, Case 1610924Officers were dispatched to reports of a man who had masturbated outside a woman’s window, then sat down for a smoke. Officers arrived in the area and began searching for the suspect, when one of them spotted a man take off running from the property, who matched the description of the suspect, later identified as Paul Joseph Anghilante, age 47. A K9 unit located Anghilante hiding in the bush. Anghilante reacted to the K9 by punching him, but was taken into custody after the officer was able to wrestle him out of the bush as he continued to fight and resist. Aghilante was placed in handcuffs and lodged on Resisting Arrest, Interfering with Police and Public Indecency.
July 2 at 9:41 p.m., 1600 block of Dalton DriverFTA parole violation Assault 4/Menacing, Possession of Methamphetamine, Failure to Renew Vehicle Registration, Driving Uninsured, and Driving while Suspended, Case 1610913An officer conducting traffic enforcement near Maxwell and Dover Lane spotted an Oldsmobile going eastbound on Maxwell with an expired tag. There was no indication of insurance on file and the registered owner was suspended. The officer stopped the car and the driver, Steven Craig Garfield, age 51, of Eugene, immediately exited and appeared about to walk away. He was ordered back into the car. As the officer approached, he saw that Garfield was in possession of methamphetamines. The officer found also that Garfield had a Parole and Probation warrant for Assault in the Fourth Degree and Menacing. Garfield charged with FTA parole violation Assault 4/Menacing, Possession of Methamphetamine, Failure to Renew Vehicle Registration, Driving Uninsured, and Driving while Suspended.
July 2 at 9:21 p.m., 220 E. 11th AvenuePossession of Heroin, Warrant, Case 1610921Officers on routine patrol spotted a man later identified as Jordan Indiana Crump, age 23, trespassing at 220 E. 11th Avenue. When they contacted him, they found that he had a warrant and was in possession of heroin and methamphetamine. Crump was lodged for his warrant and also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Heroin and Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine.
July 2 at 4:47 p.m., Jacobs/AvalonDisorderly Conduct, Case 1610904Officers were called to respond to a man, later identified as Michael Anthony Thompson, age 48, screaming and cursing, throwing empty cans around the apartment complex. Officers arrived and spotted Thompson pushing a shopping cart down the middle of the road, with a vehicle having to stop and pull off to the side to avoid hitting him. He was still yelling. He was taken into custody, without incident, for Disorderly Conduct.
July 2 at 2:51 p.m., Beltline/River RoadWarrant Arrest, Case 1610896Police were called to respond to two disorderly bicycle riders throwing beer bottles at pedestrians. An officer locating Philip Richard Even, age 45, of Eugene, and another man. Even had a warrant for Criminal Trespass and was taken into custody for the warrant. The other man was warned for Disorderly Conduct.
July 2 at 5 a.m., 3000 block of Willakenzie Attempted Assault 1, Unlawful Use of Weapon, Menacing, Coercion, Burglary 1, Case 1610864A call came in regarding a dispute in which a 30-year-old male, later identified as Travis Christopher Williams, was trying to stab one of his male roommates, age 33. The victim was able to defend himself with a knife, and Williams fled on a bicycle. An officer located Williams on Coburg Road and took him into custody without incident on charges of Attempted Assault 1, Unlawful Use of Weapon, Menacing, Coercion, and Burglary 1.
July 2 at 1:23 a.m., W. 7th/Van BurenDUI, Careless Driving, Case 1610853Officers spotted a 2012 Dodge Ram failing to maintain lanes and making an un-signaled turn, then appeared to be speeding. They stopped the vehicle, driven by Clayton Forrest Brownwood, age 30, of Springfield, and suspected intoxication. After an investigation, Brownwood was charged with DUI and Careless Driving.
July 2 at 12:50 a.m., W. 10th/CharneltonDUI, Operating Vehicle Without Required Lighting, Case 1610851An officer saw a 1998 Dodge Neon going down Charnelton Street without lights and it had an inoperable brake light. He stopped the car and suspected intoxication when he contacted the driver, Ann Elizabeth Branson, age 27, of Eugene. After investigating, she was charged with DUI, and cited for Operating a Vehicle Without Required Lighting.
July 2 at 12:40 a.m., Skinner’s ButteEugene Municipal Court Warrants (5), Jackson County Circuit Court warrants (2), Possess Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, Providing False information to a Police Officer and Carrying a Concealed Weapon – Case 1610850An officer was patrolling the area of 19 Tables, at Skinner’s Butte Park. There was a woman walking through the area while people were packing up their sites to leave. She was contacted, but provided a false name. She was detained and the officer spotted a knife hidden in her back pants pocket. The officer was able to identify her as Mikayla Joy Kelly, age 24. She had five warrants out of the Eugene Municipal Court, two warrants out of Jackson County Circuit Court. The officer also found probable cause for possession of meth and heroin. She was taken into custody on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, Providing False information to a Police Officer and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. Since this was her third offense, she was issued a one-year park restriction.
July 1 at 11:14 p.m., eastbound I-105 Reckless Driving, Driving While Suspended, Case 1610844An officer was travelling westbound on W. 6th Avenue, near Willamette and he heard an engine revving, then saw a Mercedes accelerate westbound through heavy traffic, passing other vehicles. The Mercedes got onto I-105, then took a corner too quickly and struck the median on the driver’s side. The driver, later identified as Michel Buron Maurer, age 34, of Springfield, yielded to the right, and then immediately hopped out to look at the vehicle while it was still in the median. The officer found that Maurer’s driving privileges were suspended. He was lodged at Jail for Reckless Driving and Driving While Suspended.
