Eugene Public Works will pick up all leaves that are still in the street as crews make their way through the city to clean up following last week’s ice storm. Crews will be in the neighborhoods next week to pick up storm debris from public trees on the streets and sidewalks.
Public Works cancelled the remainder of this year’s Leaf Collection and Delivery Program because of the ice storm. Broken limbs and trees had mixed with the leaf piles, contaminating them for future recycling. Because crews are focused on storm debris cleanup, Public Works will not fulfill pending and additional leaf delivery requests.
