Eugene Public Works continues to focus on clearing roads ahead of the Monday morning commute, while responding to calls of localized flooding.
Temperatures are slowly climbing Sunday afternoon and the snow and ice is melting. Some of the catch basins and storm drained are blocked. Crews are responding to reports of flooding to allow water to better flow.
While the ice is melting, conditions remain icy on City roads. Public Works crews will work through the night, sanding and plowing priority routes. However, a thick sheet of ice remains on many neighborhood streets and travel could still be dangerous.
Temperatures could drop below freezing again overnight causing water to refreeze on the roads. Drivers are urged to check conditions before heading out in the morning. All travelers should use caution. EPD released tips about driving during inclement conditions.
Downed trees calls have remained minimal so far during this storm, however crews remain on standby in case they come down.
