February 17, 2017 INFORMATION RELEASED: Eugene Police arson investigators are looking into a fire that occurred at North Eugene High School at 7:55 p.m. on February 15. The fire was in a three-sided area with an aluminum cover and then spread to an adjacent wooden track and field storage shed on the south side of the fence line.

The shed appears to be a total loss and Eugene Police Arson Investigators believe it to have been intentionally set. The incident occurred while there were activities at the school including a basketball game and staff meeting.

There have been rumors a student was arrested in the case and these are not true. The students were filming a fake arrest scene for a class project.

There have been no arrests and police are still seeking tips in the case. If anyone has information they are asked to call 541.682.5111.
