[ARCHIVED] Bicycle-Vehicle Crash on Coburg Road, Friday, February 24, 2017

Eugene Police Major Collision Investigation Team continues to investigate a serious crash in the 100 Block of Coburg Road that happened at 7:50 p.m. on Friday, February 24. A bicycle rider was crossing Coburg Road near Natural Grocers about 50 yards from the nearest cross walk. The rider was struck by a southbound Dodge 3500 flatbed pickup driven by Brian Jeremy Miller, age 23, of Eugene. The bicycle rider's family has been notified. He is identified as Robin Dana Paris, age 50, and he remains in a local hospital in critical condition.

The bicycle rider was critically injured. The truck's driver stopped and cooperated with officers. The bicycle rider was not wearing a helmet, had no lights on the bicycle and was impaired by alcohol. The bicyclist's identity is still being withheld pending notification of the family.

Traffic on the roadway was restricted Friday  night after the crash until 12:06 a.m. on Saturday.
