EPD on the Beat - March

On March 23, EPD responded to 270 calls for service (dispatched and non dispatched) and made 30 arrests. The average number of calls for service over the last seven days is 240 and the average number of arrests over the last seven days is 29. The number of calls for service on this day last year was 206, and the number of arrests was 26. Over the last three years, the average number of calls for service received on March 23 is 179, and the average number of arrests, 22.

DUII – Case 1704590

Police were in the area of the parking garage on an unrelated call and contacted Nicolas Sky Dancer, age 21, of Eugene, after hearing loud voices coming from the location. Police contacted Dancer, and received information that he had struck a pillar, and caused damage to the right front of a 2002 silver Subaru Impreza, while the vehicle was in reverse. After further investigation, he was cited in lieu of custody for DUII.

DUII – 1704589

A police officer was traveling westbound on W. 11th Avenue when the officer observed a 2003 Mazda 6, which was traveling at a high rate of speed and failing to stay in its own lane. The officer conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and contacted the driver, Kendra McKenna Hathaway, age 19, of Eugene. After further investigation, she was arrested for DUII and cited for Careless Driving.

Hit and Run – Case 1704526

On March 23 at approximately 2:36 a.m., police and Fire responded to a car that crashed into a tree on the east side of Amazon Drive and E. 35th Avenue. When police arrived, officers observed significant front end damage to the vehicle and the front bumper was in the back seat of the car. There was also damage to the tree. The driver of the vehicle left the area before emergency personnel arrived to the scene. Police eventually contacted the driver, Alexandra Monique Haynes, age 20, of Eugene, and on March 24 at approximately 1:46 a.m., cited her in lieu of custody for Hit and Run (Property Damage).

Supply Contraband/Violation Park Rules/Warrant – Case 1704588

A police officer observed multiple male subjects in Washington Jefferson Park south of the railroad tracks after hours. Following contact with the subjects, Bruce Lynn Davis, age 54, of Eugene, and Connor Thomas Richter, age 42, of Eugene, the officer cited Davis in lieu of custody for violation of park rules. Richter was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Supply Contraband (Drugs), Possession of Methamphetamine and two warrants.

Public Indecency/Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 1704587

Police responded to the lobby of the hospital regarding a male subject who exposed himself to a child. Police contacted the described subject William Edward Moskal, age 70, of Eugene, and received information that he continued to stay at the location after being told by employees to leave. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Public Indecency and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree.

Hit and Run – Case 1704577

Police responded to information of a Hit and Run that happened earlier in the parking lot of P.F. Changs Restaurant, and observed a maroon Honda Accord with significant front end damage, including a front bumper that was torn off. Police received information that the driver of a white truck struck the vehicle and was observed looking at the Honda before leaving the area without providing contact information. Police were able to located the registered owner of the described vehicle, Clayton Parker Robitaille, age 28, of Eugene, and cited him in lieu of custody for Hit and Run.

Possession of Methamphetamine/Possession Heroin/Warrants – Case 1704581

A police officer observed a male subject who was riding his bike at night without proper lighting. The officer contacted the subject, Justin Ojazz Truman, age 27, of Eugene, and found information to arrest him for Possession of Heroin, Possession of Methamphetamine and two warrants. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

DUII – Case 1704522

A police officer conducted a traffic stop of a blue 2005 Subaru WRX after it was observed traveling with its lights off and swerving within its lane of travel. The officer contacted the driver, Tony Michael Graves, age 20, of Eugene, and after further investigation, arrested him for DUII. He was also cited for Unlawful Use Headlights.

Urinate In Public – Case 1704516

A police officer was in the area on an unrelated incident when the officer observed a male subject urinating on the side of a building. The officer contacted the subject, Justin Daniel Rosauer, age 35, of Eugene, and found that he had three warrants for arrest. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail on the warrants and was cited for Urinating in Public.

Disorderly Conduct – Case 1704509

Police responded to the area regarding a male subject who was walking east on Royal Avenue and observed kicking over garbage cans and kicking fences. Police located the described subject Adam Murray Buxtonnourse, age 42, of Eugene, and he walked away from officers into the roadway on Royal Avenue, and continued in the direction after being told to stop. He was eventually contacted by police after impeding traffic and arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Interfering With Police. He was transported to the Lane County Jail on the charges.

Theft 3/Possession Heroin – Case 1704490

A police officer was flagged down by a Dollar Tree store employee regarding a female subject who was observed leaving the store without attempting to pay for multiple items she had taken. Police contacted the suspect outside the store, Kaleigh Rachelle Gordon, age 28, of Swisshome, and found information on her person to arrest her for Theft in the Third Degree and Possession of Heroin. She was transported to the Lane County Jail on the charges.

Theft 3 – Case 1704478

Police responded to the Market of Choice grocery store regarding a female subject, Victoria Ann Fury, age 47, of Eugene, who was observed selecting several items and exiting the store without attempting to pay for the items. She was contacted at the store by police, and arrested for Theft in the Third Degree.


On March 21, EPD responded to 371 calls for service (dispatched and non dispatched). Police responded to Jackson’s Market on W. 6th Avenue regarding a male subject who was observed leaving the store without attempting to pay for an item he had taken. Police located the described subject, Peyson Gonzalez-Zook, age 25, of Eugene, near the location and contacted him regarding the incident and arrested him for Theft in the Third Degree.

Police contacted Nicholas Lee Gurnett, age 37, of Eugene, regarding a pedestrian violation and found information to arrest his for Fugitive From Justice. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Menacing, Possession of Methamphetamine, Warrant – Case 1704408

An officer was sent to the location, under the Ferry Street Bridge, after a menacing was reported. An EWEB employee reported a female in distress in the parking lot. There was a 19-year-old woman in the parking lot and a male walking away. The woman had been sleeping underneath the bridge with another male. She and the male had a verbal dispute and he left to go to work. Another man under the bridge, Andrew Wesley Horn, age 26, yelled at the woman after that, then shoved her and told her to leave. He had a knife and threatened to cut her. An officer located Horn with the help of bystanders. Horn was in possession of meth and had a warrant. He was taken into custody and charged with Menacing and Possession of Methamphetamine.

Criminal Mistreatment/Theft 1/Theft 2 – Case 1610591

Police responded to Valley West Health Center regarding an employee who had fraudulently taken money from residents at the facility on several occasions dating back to January, 2014. Police contacted the suspect at her residence, Elizabeth Kay Golliher, age 38, of Eugene, and found that the total amount stolen from the 13 victims resulted in thousands in cash. She was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Criminal Mistreatment in the First Degree, Theft in the First Degree and Theft in the Second Degree.

Disorderly Conduct – Case 1704232

A police officer observed a male subject jump onto the front of an LTD bus that was stopped at the stop sign facing northbound at Olive Street and W. Broadway, and observed the subject yelling and slapping the bus with his hands. The officer contacted the 22-year-old man, Colby Jess Hokanson, of Springfield, and cited him lieu of custody for Disorderly Conduct.

Possession of Methamphetamine/Warrant – Case 1704367

A police officer contacted Kyle Alan Lowry, age 37, of Eugene, after he was observed trespassing, and found that he had a warrant for arrest and an illegal substance. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail on the warrant and Possession of Methamphetamine.

Police contacted a male subject, Joseph Patrick Woods, age 26, of Eugene, who was in Alton Baker Park after hours, and found information to cite him in lieu of custody for Possession of Methamphetamine.

Animal Abuse 1 – Case Number 17-04154

Eugene Animal Services responded to information of a male subject who is a dog owner and was observed striking his dog on multiple occasions and subsequently caused injury to the dog. Police contacted the owner, Huiyuan Ye, age 20, of Eugene, and cited him in lieu of custody for Animal Abuse in the First Degree. The dog was seized and placed in safekeeping at First Avenue Shelter.

Hit and Run/Driving While Suspended – Case 1704259

Police responded to the intersection at the location regarding a motor vehicle crash and observed a grey Mercury SUV on the side of the road with front end damage, and received information that the other involved vehicle, a white 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, left the area eastbound on Crescent Avenue. Police located the described Chevrolet in the area of Coburg Road and Crescent Avenue and conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle. The officer contacted the driver Magdaleno Ojeda-Yanez, age 48, of Eugene, and received information that the Mercedes was attempting to make a right hand turn at the intersection when it was struck on the left side by the truck, which was traveling eastbound through the intersection and failed to stop at the stop sign. Ojeda-Yanez was arrested for Hit and Run and Driving While Suspended. He was transported to the Lane County Jail on the charges.

Assault 2/Assault 3/Criminal Mischief 1/DUII/Reckless Endangering/Reckless Driving – Case 1704243

Police responded to the area regarding a Toyota 4Runner that crashed into the entrance of the Dari Mart convenience store and came to a resting position on its roof. When officer arrived, they observed that the front of the vehicle was almost entirely gone and the right front wheel/tire/hub laying in the center of the parking lot. The front windows and window frames of the store were broken, along with an EWEB power pole. The driver and passenger were transported to the hospital by medics with non life threatening injuries. Police contacted the driver, Colton Richard Lee Goodeve, age 23, of Junction City, and after further investigation, he was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for DUII, Assault in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering and Criminal Mischief in the First Degree.

Disorderly Conduct - 1704239

Police responded to the area to the area regarding a male subject who was previously contacted a short time before for impeding traffic. When police arrived, the officer observed two vehicles that were stopped in their lane of travel and impeded by the subject, Alexander Jay Huskey, age 23, of Springfield, who was standing in the roadway. Police contacted Huskey and arrested him for Disorderly Conduct. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

DUII – Case 1704241

A police officer was driving through the intersection of Blair Boulevard when he observed a white Ford sedan turn westbound on W. 7th Avenue, traveling the wrong way against oncoming traffic. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, which subsequently drove over a curb on the corner of W. 7th Avenue and Blair Boulevard, before parking in the lot near 672 Blair Boulevard. The officer contacted the driver of the vehicle Kirstie Maryanna Strelo, age 24, of Eugene, and after further investigation, she was arrested for DUII.

DUII – Case 1704242

A police officer traveling southbound on Ferry Street Bridge, conducted a traffic stop of a black Subaru Forrester after it was observed passing the officer’s patrol vehicle at a high rate of speed. The officer contacted the driver, Aaron Mattheweber Smith, age 28, of Eugene, and after further investigation, arrested him for DUII.

Criminal Trespass 1 – Case 1704179

Police responded to a residence at the location regarding an unknown male subject who was found inside the home. Police located the described subject, Michael Allen Roberts, age 23, of Veneta, who was walking in the area of Elizabeth Street near Jessen, and contacted him regarding the incident. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Criminal Trespass in the First Degree.

Assault – Case 1704178

Police responded to the area regarding an assault that happened at the Webfoot Bar and Grill and contacted the involved male subjects. Police received information that both subjects, who are known to each other, were in a verbal dispute that escalated when Erick Rolando Villar, age 22, of Eugene, punched the 21-year-old victim in the face. Police observed an injury to face of the victim, and following contact with Villar, he was arrested for Assault and transported to the Lane County Jail.

Felon In Possession Of Restricted Weapon/Warrant – Case 1704172

Police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle after observing an inoperable license plate light. During contact with the driver, the officer observed a passenger in the vehicle who had a warrant for arrest. The officer contacted the passenger, Jeremy Ray Coleman, age 32, of Eugene, and arrested him on a warrant. During contact with Coleman, the officer also found him in possession of a blunt metal object and he received an additional charge of Felon In Possession of a Restricted Weapon. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Police were in the area when officers contacted a subject on bike regarding an equipment violation. During contact with the subject, Sinjin Aaron Smith, age 22, of Eugene, the officer found information to cite him in lieu of custody for Possession of Methamphetamine.

Possession of Methamphetamine/Fugitive From Justice – Case 1704118

Police contacted a subject who was lying in front of The Stereo Store regarding trespassing and found information to arrest the subject Tyler Samuel Rhodes, age 31, of Eugene, for Fugitive From Justice and Possession of Methamphetamine. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Possession of Methamphetamine/Warrant – Case 1704115

A police officer observed a female bicyclist who was riding her bike without proper lighting equipment. The officer contacted the bicyclist Amy Amanda Santana, age 35, of Eugene, and found information to arrest her on a warrant and Possession of Methamphetamine. She was transported to the Lane County Jail.


03/15/2017 06:59, 1700 BLOCK SKYLINE BLVD

UUV – Cases 1704073

Police responded to a possible shots fired call in the area of Skyline Boulevard. When officers arrived, they located and recovered two stolen vehicles and found that the source of the original information was possibly related to illegal fireworks. Police attempted to contact a male subject who was in one of the vehicles, Larry Allen Preston Jr., age 33, and he fled. He was eventually contacted and taken into custody after falling from a roof and arrested on two counts of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and a warrant. He was evaluated at the hospital and transported to the Lane County Jail on the charges.

Fugitive From Justice – Case 1704108

Police responded to an apartment on Kinsrow Avenue regarding the location of a wanted suspect, and contacted Moriah Taliilagi Kaahanui, age 28, of Eugene. She was arrested for Fugitive From Justice and transported to the Lane County Jail.

Theft 2 – Case 1704099

Police responded to the Home Depot on Green Acres Road regarding a shoplifter who was observed exiting the store without attempting to pay for an item he was carrying. Police contacted the suspect, John Michael Putzier, age 28, of Coburg, and cited him in lieu of custody for Theft in the Second Degree.

UUV/Hit and Run/Possession of Methamphetamine/Reckless Driving/Elude by Vehicle/Warrant/Resisting Arrest – Case 1704070

On March 4, police received information of a license plate that had been stolen from a vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment in west Eugene. On March 15, an officer observed the license plate on a stolen vehicle and attempted to contact the driver of the vehicle, Derrick Joseph Bloomstrom, age 35, of Eugene. The vehicle subsequently eluded the officer and accelerated at a high rate of speed southbound on Hyacinth, where it was observed traveling through two stop signs on Calla Street at Hyancinth and Kalmia Street and a red light at Kalmia Street and Irving Road before crashing into three vehicles parked at two separate residences. The officer continued to travel in the direction of the vehicle and observed dust from the crash and Bloomstrom running eastbound from the vehicle across Kalmia Street. The officer caught up to Bloomstrom on foot and he turned toward the officer and continued to aggress and disregard direction from the officer, before eventually being taken into custody with the use of a tazer. Following contact with Bloomstrom, he was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Hit and Run (Property Damage), Possession of Methamphetamine, Reckless Driving, Elude by Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, and a warrant.

Interfering With Police/Criminal Trespass 2/False Information To Police Officer/Fugitive From Justice – Case 1704076

Police responded to M Jacobs Furniture regarding a person trespassing on the property and observed the subject, Jason Adam Hanson, age 26, who was lying next to the entrance of the business, which has No Trespassing signs posted at the location. Hanson was initially unresponsive, and when contacted by the officer, he provided false identifying information. Following contact with Hanson, the officer found information to arrest him for Interfering With Police, Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree, False Information To Police Officer and Fugitive From Justice. He was transported to the Lane County Jail on the charges.

Warrant – Case 1704067

A police officer contacted a bicyclist who was riding eastbound on W. 10th Avenue without the required lighting equipment. During contact with the subject, Austin Henry Johnson, age 37, of Junction City, it was found that he had a warrant for arrest. He arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail on the warrant.

Possession of Methamphetamine/Warrant – Case 1704062

A police officer observed a male subject who appeared to be in a dispute with another male subject. During contact with the subject, Frank Jason Taylor, age 41, of Eugene, the officer found information to arrest him for Possession of Methamphetamine and two warrants for arrest. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Disorderly Conduct – Case 1704059

Police responding to the area for a dispute, observed the described female subject walking west in the number one lane of traffic on W. 6th Avenue. Police contacted the woman, Marissa Lynn Pugh, age 25, of Eugene, and received information that she had thrown a can at a male subject and continued to yell as she walked into the roadway in a high traffic area before the I-105 exit. Pugh was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Disorderly Conduct.

A police officer contacted Henry Lee Young, age 61, of Eugene, after he was observed urinating in the pedestrian walkway of the alley. He was cited for Urinating in Public.

Possession of Methamphetamine – Case 1704041

Police patrolling the area contacted Kevin Frances Burke, age 53, of Eugene, in Washington Jefferson Park, after he was observed with a methamphetamine item and found information to arrest him for Possession of Methamphetamine. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Noise Disturbance – Case 1704011

Police responded to the area regarding a disorderly subject who was yelling and banging on the door of a residence and causing a disturbance. Arriving officers contacted the described subject Nathan Michael Harrington, age 25, of Eugene, who was at the location and arrested him for Noise Disturbance.

Interfering With Police/Violation of Park Rules

Police were patrolling the area and contacted Ira Ulyesses Bastian Jr., age 31, of Eugene, who was in the north end of Washington Jefferson Park after hours. During contact with Bastian, he refused to follow direction and placed a physical barrier between himself and the officer. Bastian continued to behave in an aggressive manner and was eventually arrested for Interfering With Police and Violation of Park Rules.

DUII/Reckless Driving – Case 1704009

Police responded to a single vehicle roll over crash at the I-5 southbound onramp to I-105 westbound and observed the involved 2001 Ford Taurus. Police contacted the male driver, Feliciano Biorato-Rodriquez, age 41, of Springfield, who was standing away from the vehicle, and after further investigation, arrested him for DUII and Reckless Driving. He was also cited for Operating Without Driving Privilege.

DUII – Case 1704002

Police responded to the area regarding a possibly intoxicated driver who drove into the curb and broke the front driver side wheel. The arriving officer observed the damaged wheel leaning inward and contacted the driver, Luke James Neet, age 23, of Eugene, who was still in the vehicle when the officer arrived. After further investigation, Neet was arrested for DUII.

Robbery 3/Possession of Methamphetamine/Warrant – Case 1703994

Police responded to the Home Depot on Green Acres regarding a shoplifter who was in a physical confrontation with an employee. Police received information that the suspect Jordan Matthew Alexander Henson, age 20, of Eugene, was approached by an employee after he was observed concealing items on his person and exiting the store, and subsequently pushed the employee. Police contacted Henson at the location and found information to arrest him for Robber in the Third Degree, Possession of Methamphetamine and a warrant. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Hit and Run (Property Damage) – Case 1703927

Police responded to a reported Hit and Run that happened the previous day and received information that on March 11, a Dodge Durango had struck two parked vehicles near the intersection of Unthank Street and Throne Drive, after it was observed driving at a high rate of speed and left the location without stopping or attempting to contact the vehicle owners. Police located the described 1999 Dodge Durango, which was parked approximately a block from the location of the incident, and observed damage to the front of the vehicle. The officer contacted the driver of the vehicle, Mary Ann Glynn, age 36, of North Bend, and cited her in lieu of custody for Hit and Run.

Warrant/Interfering With Police – Case 1703917

Police responded to the area regarding a physical dispute and contacted an involved subject, Austin Jay Schultz, age 19, of Eugene, who fled during the investigation. He was apprehended a short distance away and arrested on a warrant and Interfering With A Police Officer. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Possession of Methamphetamine/Warrant – Case 1703912

Police observed two subjects who were crossing W. 18th at an angle toward traffic. The officer contacted the subjects, Teesha Kananimakalohil Baldree, age 21, of Eugene, and Michael John Lamb, age 33, of Eugene, and found information to arrest them both for a warrant and Possession of Methamphetamine. Lamb and Baldree were transported to the Lane County Jail.

Harassment/Disorderly Conduct – Case 1703879

Police responded to an apartment regarding a physical dispute between roommates and the arriving officer could hear a male subject yelling from an upstairs balcony, and observed the male spitting from the location. Police contacted the subject, Oscar E Becerra-Hernandez, who continued to behave aggressively and yelled at the officer. The officer received information that Becerra-Hernandez was confronted by his roommate regarding his behavior and he subsequently aggressed his roommate. Police arrested and transported Becerra-Hernandez to the Lane County Jail for Harassment and Disorderly Conduct.

DUII – Case 1703875

A police officer was traveling west on W. 6th Avenue when he observed a green 2001 Toyota Corolla make a left turn from the number two lane, and proceeded south to W. 7th Avenue where it stopped halfway through a crosswalk at a red traffic signal. The officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver of the vehicle, Robert Marson Schofield, age 56, of Eugene, and after further investigation, arrested him for DUII. He was also cited for Improper Left Turn.

Reckless Endangering/DUII/Hit and Run/Reckless Driving – Case 1703855

Police responded to the area regarding a silver 2005 Subaru sedan that had crashed into a building and got stuck in an embankment on Willamette Street after backing the vehicle from the building. The arriving officer observed extensive front end damage to the vehicle and received information that the driver and passenger had walked northbound from the crash. Police located the described subjects and contacted the driver, Kevin Christopher Waldie, age 20, of Eugene, and received information that the vehicle had been observed driving at a high rate of speed and nearly struck a pedestrian before crashing into the structure. After further investigation, Waldie was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Reckless Endangering, DUII, Hit and Run and Reckless Driving. He was transported to the Lane County Jail and also cited for Driving While Suspended.

DUII/Reckless Endangering – Case 1703840

Police responded to the area regarding a 1999 Isuzu Trooper that crashed into the rear of a 2013 BMW motorcycle that was stopped in traffic at a light. Police contacted the involved operators, who had pulled over, and after further investigation, arrested the driver of the Trooper, Gerson Anibal Perez-Higeros, age 26, who had multiple passengers in his vehicle, and arrested him for DUII and Reckless Endangering. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

A police officer attempted to contact a male subject regarding a park rules violation and the subject subsequently fled west on foot. The officer was unable to locate the subject after he was observed traveling north into Jefferson Alley, however, the subject was located a short time later in the area by EPD K9 Blek. Police contacted the subject, Johnathon James Dean Olson, age 26, of Eugene, and arrested him for Possession of Methamphetamine, Interfering With Police and Warrants. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Charges: Burglary 1/Felon In Possession Of Restricted Weapon/Possession Heroin/Interfering With Police Officer/Warrant – Case 1703717

Police responded to a residence on Crest Drive regarding a burglary and observed a broken window and several items inside the home that had been misplaced. Following information gathered at the location, police were able to locate the suspect at an apartment on the 100 block of W. 11th Avenue. When the officer attempted to contact the suspect, Philip Emile Delater, age 41, of Eugene, he threw an object at the officer and attempted to run. He was apprehended a short distance away and found to possess several items that were stolen from the home, including electronics and personal items. Following contact with Delater, he was arrested for Burglary in the First Degree, Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon, Possession of Heroin, Interfering With A Police Officer and a warrant. Police also contacted a female subject who was with Delater at the location, Gerri Dale Porter, age 42, of Eugene, and arrested her for Possession of Heroin and three warrants. Both were transported to the Lane County Jail on the charges.

Police responded to Home Depot regarding a shoplifter and received information that the suspect, Mark Perkins, age 62, of Veneta, left the store without attempting to pay for an item he had placed on his person. He was contacted by police at the location and cited for Theft in the Third Degree.

Charge: Identity Theft – Case 1703683, Charge: Theft 3/Warrant – Case 1703692

Police responded to Echo Hollow Road and Fuller Avenue regarding a theft that occurred at Lee’s Donuts. Police located the described suspect, Dennis Wayne Lowden, age 41, in front of a residence on Fuller and contacted him regarding the information. During contact with Lowden, he was found in possession of cash that was taken from the business. Police also found that he was in possession of several personal items belonging to another person, including debit cards and he had a warrant for arrest. He was arrested for Identity Theft, Theft in the Third Degree and a warrant. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

A police officer recognized Eriq Christopher Pfister, age 30, who was observed in the area, and contacted him regarding a warrant. During contact with Pfister, the officer found information to arrest him on the warrant, Carry Concealed Weapon and Felon In Possession Of Restricted Weapon, after he was found to possess multiple bladed items on his person. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Charges: Identity Theft/Theft 2 – Case 1700399

Police contacted Virginia Cecilia Buck, age 28, of Eugene, regarding the fraudulent use of credit cards at several locations after she had been observed using the card to make a purchase. Following contact with Buck, who was at the jail on unrelated charges, she received additional charges for three counts of Identity Theft in the Third Degree and Theft in the Second Degree.

Police responded to the area regarding a male subject who was entering a vehicle that was parked in the lot of the location, after pulling the handle of several other vehicles. When police arrived, the officer observed the described subject in the driver’s seat of a vehicle and contacted the subject, Shane Richard Neal, age 25, of Eugene. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail on three warrants and Unlawful Entry of a Motor Vehicle.

Criminal Trespass 1, False Info to Officer, Warrant – Case 1703625

Apartment management called police after construction workers noticed someone was in what was supposed to be an empty apartment they were scheduled to work in. Officers arrived and contacted the occupants, later identified as Rodney Brandon Kneece, age 33, of Eugene, and Anastasia Loren Yell, age 24, of Eugene. Both provided false names to the officers, who were able to determine their true names and confirm their identities. There was drug paraphernalia in the apartment and IDs for other people. Both Kneece and Yell had warrants. Both were taken into custody on their warrants and also charged with Criminal Trespass 1 and False Information to a Police Officer.

Prohibited Camping – Case 1703622

Numerous calls have come in regarding prohibited campers at W. 13th and Commerce, with an increase in theft and trash. An officer conducted a patrol check and saw a camper dropped off along the curb. It had no license plate and there was no tow vehicle for it. The officer tagged it with a 72-hour notice and spoke to the owner, Jennifer Elizabeth Gwin, age 37, of Eugene, to warn her. After four days, Gwin was still camping at the location and was cited for Prohibited Camping and warned to leave within 24 hours or be cited for Willful Violation of the ordinance. Near Gwin’s camper was a motorhome that had been warned two weeks prior. It had been gone for a week, but was back. The officer made contact at the motorhome and cited the owner Joiy Linn Whipple, age 43, for Prohibited Camping, and provided a warning to move within 24 hours to avoid a Willful Violation charge.

Warrant – Case 1703633

An officer was dispatched to the location after a male was observed pulling out what appeared to be a handgun and showing it to another individual. The officer contacted the man in front of the Neighborhood Deli and identified him as Garen Daniel Theis, age 49. He provided the officer consent to confiscate the weapon and destroy it. It was a plastic handgun replica. Theis had two warrants and was taken into custody on those.

A police officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop of a white Volkswagen Jetta after it was observed traveling southbound on Delta Highway and turned westbound onto Goodpasture Road from the Fastlane, and braked abruptly before the turn. The officer contacted the driver, Michelle Aisha Biggs, age 22, of Eugene, and arrested her for DUII. She was also cited for Failure To Carry/Present License.

Resisting Arrest/Warrants – Case 1703600

Police responded to a residence regarding a dispute, contacted the involved subjects and found that Chrystal Amanda Lea Gray, age 37, of Eugene, had three warrants for arrest. During contact with police, Gray refused to cooperative, struggled and attempted to kick officers during the arrest. She was eventually arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for the three warrants and Resisting Arrest.

Charge: Robbery 3 – Case 1703592

Police responded to the Lane Titan Store regarding a shoplifter who was fighting with employees. Police received information that the suspect, Keppa Elizabeth Pruett, age 48, of Eugene, was observed exiting the store without attempting to pay for an item she had taken and was approached by an employee who attempted to prevent Pruett from leaving. Pruett subsequently pulled away from the employee and attempted to push past the employee who was able to keep Pruett at the store until police arrived and contacted her regarding the incident. She was arrested for Robbery in the Third Degree and transported to the Lane County Jail.

Charge: Theft 1 – Case 1703594

Police responded to Macy’s department store regarding a number of thefts that had been occurring and received information that an employee was observed taking money from the store. Police contacted the employee, Jeffrey Adden Johnston, age 36, of Eugene, and arrested him for Theft in the First Degree. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Charges: Disorderly Conduct 2/Discharge Firearm Unlawful

Police responded to Albertson’s grocery store regarding a man who was reported in the store, sitting in front of the U.S. Bank kiosk with a handgun on his lap. Officers arrived and the man reached for his gun when he was contacted and was quickly taken into custody. The gun turned out to be a bb gun that looked like a real handgun. The suspect, Jeffery James Burnite, age 73, of Eugene, was charged with Disorderly Conduct 2 and Unlawful Discharge of a Weapon.

A police officer contacted the driver of a blue 2007 Lexus E350,  Justin Anthony Pense, age 25, of Eugene, after he was observed traveling eastbound on W. 7th Avenue without headlights or taillights illuminated. After further investigation, Pense was arrested for DUII and cited for Operating Without Required Lighting Equipment.

Police responded to the Welcome Inn Motel regarding a dispute and contacted the involved subject, Sharon Lee Munson, age 69, and found that she had a warrant for arrest. She was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Lane County Jail.

Theft 3 – Case 1703544

Police responded to the JC Penny department store at Valley River Center regarding a shoplifter who exited the store without attempting to pay for a clothing item she had taken. Police contacted the suspect at the store, Robin Rene Briggs, age 38, of Eugene, and arrested her for Theft in the Third Degree.

Criminal Trespass 2/Use Of Marijuana Public Place – Case 1703532

A police officer was on foot patrol in the area when he observed three subjects in an area marked with a No Trespassing sign behind an apartment. The officer contacted the subjects, Eusebio Chaparro, age 28, of Eugene, Joshua James Kulus, age 37, of Eugene, and Christa Faith Hitt, age 47, of Veneta, and cited them for Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. During contact with the subjects, the officer found that Hitt had three warrants for arrest and Kulus had two warrants for arrest. They were both transported to the Lane County Jail on the warrants and Kulus received an additional citation for Use Of Marijuana In A Public Place.

Disorderly Conduct – Case 1703481

Police responded to the bike path near Rife’s Home Furniture store off Oakway Road regarding a physical dispute between two male subjects, and that one of the male subjects had thrown rocks at the other. Police contact the involved subjects and arrested Daniel Michael Brumley, age 33, of Eugene, for Disorderly Conduct. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Police responded to Happy Hours Bar regarding a possible DUII driver who was observed leaving the location in a 2000 Chevrolet S-10. Police located the described vehicle parked in front of a residence on Goodpasture Loop, and contacted Michael Charles Simmons, age 62, of Eugene, who was in the driver’s seat. After further investigation, police found information to arrest Simmons for DUII and Reckless Driving. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Police responded to Hirons Pharmacy at the location regarding a suspect who left the location without attempting to pay for the items that he placed on his person. Police contacted the suspect, Ryan Bettini Self, age 19, of Eugene, and cited him for Theft in the Third Degree.

Police contacted a female subject who was in the park after hours. During contact with the subject, Lilian Marisol Prindle, age 19, of Eugene, the officer found information to arrest her on a warrant and Possession of Methamphetamine. She was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Charges: Use of Marijuana In Public Place – Case 1703248

A police officer observed several subjects in the parking lot of M Jacobs, in an area marked with No Trespassing signs. The officer contacted the subjects, Adam Thomas Dickinson, age 23, of Eugene; Akeya Lynn Jewel Modaff, age 20, of Springfield; Nathan Neil Murphy, age 28, of Eugene; and Andrew Wesley Horn, age 26, of Eugene; and cited them for Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. Horn and Murphy received additional citations for Use of Marijuana in a Public Place.

A police officer responded to the Market of Choice grocery store regarding a shoplifter who was observed exiting the store without attempting to pay of the items she had placed on her person. Police contacted the suspect, Caroline Marjorie Feig, age 18, of Eugene, and cited her for Theft in the Third Degree.

Criminal Trespass, Warrants – Case 1703200

An officer was sent to St. Vincent de Paul on Division Avenue regarding a trespassing man, later identified as Justin James Offill, age 37. He had previously been trespassed and had multiple warrants: Eugene Municipal warrant (Interfering with Police, Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Mischief 2, two counts of Criminal Mischief 3, three counts of Reckless Endangerment), Eugene Municipal Warrant UOPD Obstruct Justice), Lane County Circuit Warrant (Springfield, Possession of Meth). Offill was reported to have been at the location a few nights prior and struck a customer, and had threatened an employee. Officers took Offill into custody without incident.

Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 1703199

Officers were dispatched to call of a disorderly and uncooperative trespasser at the Eugene Public Library, who had alarmed patrons, causing them to leave and making racial comments and slurs to one of the security officers. The trespassing man, Jeremy Lee Guericke, age 37, into custody was refusing to provide his identification, refused to listen to directions and was uncooperative with the investigation. He resisted being taken under arrest and had to be taken to the ground and he continued to resist. Guericke picked his own head up and struck it on the ground while lying face down. He was taken to a patrol vehicle and continued to fight and resist. He was lodged at Jail for Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Trespass 2.

Criminal Trespass – Case 1703173

Two officers were patrolling E. 8th and E. Park and saw a man sitting on the concrete steps of the E. Park Blocks. The man, Austin Henry Johnson, age 37, appeared unconscious and there was a container of Marijuana near him. Officers contacted him to make sure he was not suffering a medical emergency. They found that he had only fallen asleep, but he had a park restriction. He was charged with Criminal Trespass.

Violation Park Rules, Parole Violation Warrant – Case 1703194

Two officers were on routine patrol near Peter DeFazio Bike Bridge in Skinners Butte Park and saw two tents underneath the bridge. They contacted the occupants of both. One tent’s occupant, Louis A Gonzalez-Garcia, age 45, had numerous aliases and a warrant from Parole and Probation for Dangerous Drugs. He was charged with Violation of Park Rules and taken into custody on the warrant.

Burglary 1 – Case 1703202

A 69-year-old woman left her home at noon and when she got back home she found a man she didn’t know sitting in her bed watching television and drinking a beverage. She left and called police. When police got there they found the man, Wilhelm Rivera Rosa, age 55, as reported and took him into custody without incident. Upon investigating, they found that Rivera Rosa had gone through drawers and a closet, used the victim’s toothbrush and paste, and there was tobacco on her mattress. He was arrested for Burglary 1.

Assault – Case 1703203

An officer was sent to report of a fight involving three people at Washington Jefferson Park. Upon arriving officers investigated and found that the male suspect, later identified as Bernard Shifman, age 40, had left the area. He was located at 7th Alley and Washington. Shifman was found to have hit the male victim, age 54, in the head with a stick during a dispute and a woman tried to intervene. Shifman was charged with assault.
